Getting to know Stephanie McNichols

My name is Stephanie J McNichols and I am a LIMHP and LADC. I earned my bachelor degree from UNL in 2007. I received my masters degree in counseling from Doane College in 2015. I have been working as a substance abuse therapist and mental health therapist since then. I have 3 children and have been married for many years. I specialize in substance use and co-occurring disorders. I also am able to complete Substance Abuse Evaluations for the courts. I understand that substance use impacts lives in various ways and there is not one way to overcome addiction. Treatment is not a one size fits all solution. We will work together to create an individual and achievable plan to work towards sobriety. I also offer individual therapy to adults that targets depression, anxiety, stress management, and life changes. My goal is to provide an environment where clients feel comfortable to work through the barriers that are preventing effective change. Together we will create a plan that empowers each person to take the steps needed to move forward. Luna is my therapy dog. She was born in Iowa in 2021. She is a mini goldendoodle. She is a registered therapy dog through Therapy Dogs United, Inc. She attends sessions with me most days and loves to greet clients when they come to the office. She loves to give that extra comfort to clients that are having an extra hard time that day. A little about me. I love sports and am an Avid Husker FAN!! GBR!! I also follow the Vikings Football team. Because of this we are a very sports active family and I will sometimes coach my kids as well I love true crime and watch it on TV and listen to it on podcasts. If I ever get free time I LOVE to read mystery novels with the goal of figuring out the end before the writer tells me. :)
