About Dr. Alison Elmquist

Dr. Alison Elmquist is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and was raised in the Midwest. She graduated with honors from Vanderbilt University in 1980 and earned her Doctor of Medicine from UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Elmquist completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Parkland Health in 1993 and joined Vernon and Waldrep Ob-Gyn Associates at Medical City. During her tenure at Medical City, Dr. Elmquist has served on numerous committees, including OB Section Chief, Department Chair, and was Chief of the Medical Staff in 2009. She is also involved in the Dallas County Medical Society. Dr. Elmquist’s passion is caring for women throughout all stages of their lives and helping them fulfill a healthy, productive lifestyle so they can accomplish their life goals. She feels a true calling in obstetrics and is privileged to be part of assisting new souls entering this world. She also greatly enjoys gynecology, preventative healthcare, and time in the operating arena. Her relationships with her patients, their families, and children are of utmost importance and have given much meaning and enrichment to her life. When she is not in the office, Dr. Elmquist enjoys spending time with her husband David and three children, Mac, JoAnna, and Lara. She is an avid cyclist, loves getting her hands dirty in the garden, and enjoys spending time with friends.
