Dr. Groenhuyzen is a compassionate, board-certified and residency trained optometrist with a passion for helping patients achieve optimal eye health and vision. Dr. Groenhuyzen earned her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition Science from Texas A&M University, graduating magna cum laude. She went on to receive her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry, where she graduated summa cum laude and received extensive clinical training in primary eye care, pediatrics, and ocular disease. Following optometry school, she completed a prestigious residency specializing in ocular disease management and ocular surgery co-management at a well-renowned surgical practice in San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Groenhuyzen offers a full range of services—from routine eye exams and pediatric screenings to contact lens fittings and the diagnosis and management of ocular conditions such as corneal abrasions, cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy. Her patient-centered approach emphasizes education, clear communication, and building long-term relationships with every member of the family. Dr. Groenhuyzen relocated to Colorado in 2023 to embrace its wellness-focused culture, active outdoor lifestyle, and scenic beauty. Outside of the office, she enjoys exploring new hiking trails, playing soccer and volleyball, cheering on the Denver Nuggets and Buffalo Bills, and spending quality time with friends—especially outdoors.
