About Dr. Amarachi Obi
Dr. Amarachi Obi earned her medical degree from the Howard University College of Medicine and completed her OBGYN residency training at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University. Skilled in robotic surgery, she earned recognition from the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL) for her excellence in minimally invasive gynecology.
With a patient-centered philosophy, Dr. Obi emphasizes education and shared decision-making to foster trust, empower patients, and support informed health choices.
Dr. Obi provides full-spectrum pregnancy care, including preconception counseling, prenatal management, delivery planning, and postpartum support. She also treats a broad range of gynecologic conditions, including uterine fibroids, and advocates for preventive health via routine well-women exams, cancer screenings, and informed contraception counseling.
Equally passionate about mentorship and health care team collaboration, Dr. Obi’s past service work includes outreach and education to Washington, D.C., adolescents and Brooklyn community healthcare workers.
Dr. Obi joins Simmonds, Martin & Helmbrecht on September 15. After growing up and completing most of her education in D.C. and Maryland, she is excited to serve patients in DMV communities.
