Dr. Angela Massoud, DO

Primary Care Doctor
335 School St, Cleveland, NC
I was born and raised in Cincinnati surrounded by healthcare. Both my parents are physicians, so you could say it's genetic. I felt called to this career from a young age; I first announced I wanted to be a doctor when I was 5! As I grew up, I realized the true impact we, as physicians, can have on patients' lives. Once I discovered I wasn't afraid of the sight of blood, my future was set. When I applied to medical school, I discovered the field of osteopathy. (The DO behind my name stands for Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine). Osteopathy embodies the qualities of medicine I wanted to use in practice, such as approaching healthcare from a holistic perspective and using lifestyle management where appropriate. I also learned about osteopathic manipulation, which I incorporate into my practice and have found to be beneficial for many patients. In my third year of medical school, I felt called to family medicine. I love taking care of people of all ages. My patients range in age from newborn to 97. To me, being a primary care physician is the front line and the place where we can best prevent adverse health events from occurring. My goal for patients is for them to be the healthiest and happiest they can be on their terms. I will always share what I believe patients should do to achieve optimal health, including exercise, diet, medications, procedures, tests and more, but I offer choices. Ultimately, patients have the power to make decisions for themselves. I listen to my patients and try to make sure we can meet their goals together. I never want patients to dread coming to the doctor. I hope they see my office as a place for growth and healing, and I work to ensure that it feels that way. Like so many Midwesterners, I grew tired of the snow. I moved to the Charlotte area for the weather. I'm the middle child of Lebanese parents and am very close to them and my siblings.
