Dr. Mehta graduated from Rutgers University with a degree in Cell Biology and Neuroscience with a minor in Psychology. She completed her medical degree from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. After that, she completed, a preliminary year in Medicine at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia and stayed there for another three years to complete her Neurology Residency. Then, she completed a 1-year Fellowship at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Neurophysiology/Epilepsy Tracked. She worked for about a year and half as a Neurohospitalist. After that, she joined the Department of Neurology in the Rutgers Neurological Institute of New Jersey at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School and was an Assistant Professor of Neurology. For 5 years, she served as Co-Director and then Director of Stroke at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, an advanced primary stroke center within the RWJBarnabas Health network. She then transitioned to Summit Health, where she has spent the past 4.5 years practicing as a general outpatient neurologist and epileptologist. She is boarded in Neurology and Epilepsy. She has completed a Masters in Clinical and Translational Research at George Washington University. She has been a sub-investigator with clinical drug trials involving Myasthenia Gravis. She has published in topics including sarcoid neuropathy, neurosarcoidosis, trigeminal neuralgia, and peripheral neuropathy, She is a frequent physician reviewer for different organizations.
