About Dr. Anthony Giallombardo
Dr. Anthony Giallombardo was born and raised in New Jersey. He earned his bachelor's degree in biology at Kean University with honors as Summa Cum Laude. He completed his Doctor of Optometry training at Salus University's Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia, graduating with clinical honors. Dr. Giallombardo received notable awards for his excellence in the clinical environment. He trained extensively at the James A. Hailey VA Hospital in Tampa, Florida, where he treated a variety of complicated cases with an emphasis on traumatic brain injuries. He served as a member of the Lions Club, which organized optometric screenings for the communities surrounding PCO, and he is a member of the American Optometric Society and the New Jersey Society of Optometric Physicians. Dr. Giallombardo is highly trained in a wide range of ocular conditions, including medical ocular care, ocular disease, specialty contact lenses, myopia control, dry eye disease, glaucoma, postoperative care, and much more. When he is not working, Dr. Giallombardo enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, as well as traveling.

The front office staff were incredibly rude and dismissive. They discussed that I used Zocdoc “over the weekend” to book my appointment, though it had been booked weeks prior. She believed I had done it over the weekend because it wasn’t showing up in their system, which she later said was because the systems “do not talk to each other.” Additionally, the woman with bright red hair and glasses was openly hostile as she told me that I shouldn’t have used the app to book, I should have called, and that they “don’t even take [my insurance].”
Overall, an abysmal experience and a waste of time. If the Zocdoc platform doesn’t work for your office or your office’s needs, then stop using it. Being disrespectful to first time customers is not the way to fix that particular problem.

The office staff is welcoming, friendly and professional. The doctor was informative, took the time to thoroughly explain everything that he was doing as well as what things meant in terms that I could understand. The optician is great as well. She is always pleasant, helpful, and knowledgeable. The entire experience from the time I walked in until the time I left was top tier!

Dr. Giallombardo was wonderful! Not having been to an eye doctor in quite some time, he spent plenty of time addressing my concerns and updating my prescription. I was able to make an appointment the same week - his office staff was accommodating and organized. I highly recommend his practice. I will now be visiting regularly!
