About Dr. Austin Barr

Dr. Austin Barr is passionate about providing quality care for all patients that he has the pleasure of seeing. While Dr. Barr is well-versed in comprehensive eye exams involving glasses and contact lenses, he primarily specializes in the treatment of ocular disease, including glaucoma, macular degeneration, and dry eyes. Dr. Barr’s skillset also involves the management of pre and post-operative patients for cataract and refractive surgeries. Dr. Barr strives to not only treat patients appropriately but to also create meaningful connections with patients, allowing them to feel the trust that is required for a successful doctor-patient relationship. Dr. Barr received his bachelor’s degree from the University of California Santa Barbara. He then graduated magna cum laude from the Rosenberg School of Optometry in San Antonio, TX where he received his doctoral degree. After receiving his doctorate, Dr. Barr moved to Dallas to become an ocular disease resident and further specialize his skills in this area. Shortly after residency, he moved back to his hometown of Temecula to begin providing eyecare to the patients of Southern California. When not in the office, Dr. Barr enjoys spending time with his wife and two dogs doing things such as hiking and traveling. Dr. Barr is also an avid L.A. Lakers fan. Dr. Barr’s other hobbies include playing sports, reading, and writing short stories.
