About Dr. Ayman Matta
Ayman Matta, M.D., F.A.C.S. is the Director of the New York Eye Institute. Dr. Matta is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Matta specializes in Cataract Surgery, Refractive Surgery, Glaucoma, Corneal Transplants, Medical and Laser Retina Surgery, including LASIK, PRK, PTK , AK , and Lens Exchange Therapy.
Dr. Matta completed medical school and his internship at Ain Shams University School of Medicine, and completed his residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine at the Catholic Medical Center of Brooklyn and Queens and the State University of New York, Stony Brook at the Nassau University Medical Center. He then went on to complete a fellowship in Anterior Segment and Cornea & Refraction at the Bucci Cataract and Laser Vision Institute in Pennsylvania

The woman who did my eye exam was nasty. The office opened at 9:00. I had a 9:45 appointment and still waited an hour. The doctor had the WORST bedside manner I’ve ever encountered. Didn’t greet me upon entering the room, nor address me when leaving the room. Just awful

Took off from work just to see a eye doctor. Had no choice but to see Dr Matta because of last minute emergency. He is Unsympathetic. No questions. Just in and out of the room. Didn’t even get to the root of the problem. Then tells the nurse to send me to another doctor to check for other issues like glaucoma. The worst part...... The medicine he prescribed didn’t even work. I tried it for a week. I didnt feel better at all.

Verdict is still out, got prescribed the wrong drug, had a lot of trouble fixing it. This is what happens when doctors feel compelled to see large numbers of people each day....confusion.
