About Dr. Carla Luna
My interest in the field of allergy began at a young age, through my experience with my own allergies. I know what it feels like to itch incessantly, to sneeze through a season, and even to panic during an acute allergic reaction. I promise to listen to your story, sift through the details, and employ appropriate testing to identify your allergic triggers and provide an individualized treatment plan.
I earned my Bachelor's degree from Brown University, followed by my Doctor of Medicine from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science. I completed my Residency in Internal Medicine and Fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at Rush University Medical Center.
I am thrilled to return to my hometown to practice with my husband, Dr. Colin Freccia. We are passionate about providing convenient, patient-centered, expert care in allergy and asthma.
Outside of work, you will find me chasing after our two children, practicing yoga, reading novels and books on personal development, or searching for the best restaurants in every city.

Dr. Luna was SO kind and patient with me. I asked close to 30 questions probably lol and she answered all of them including the questions such as billing and payments. I know that can be faux pas to ask about, but she made me feel comfortable asking and made sure I knew every step what something would cost (insurance covered most of it, but just wanted to check).
It really felt like Dr. Luna leads with humanity first which feels rare in doctor appointments these days. She was able to set up a care plan for me and ensured I felt comfortable with the process (and possible charges) before putting anything in motion. Overall, it felt amazing to be listened to and feel like my opinion/preference is taken into account.
The staff was also very kind and helpful. The office was super clean and has a nice view too :) I was able to park on the street, but from my understanding they offer validated garage parking behind the building.

I was finally validated after months of symptoms and struggling to find an action path forward. Dr. Luna and the medical assistant I spoke to were both empathetic and knowledgeable. Dr. Luna did not patronize me but explained what she thought might be going on and what we were going to test for and why, which made the experience so much better than other allergists I have seen this year.

Dr. Luna was a great listener and really valued my own assessment of my health/experiences. While I believe you often know your body best, Dr. Luna did an amazing job of remaining objective and later validating my initial thoughts after evaluating the results of my allergy panel. She clearly outlined my treatment options and didn’t put any pressure for me to make a decision on the spot. The front desk staff and medical assistants were also very friendly and professional.

I had a great experience with Dr. Luna! She seemed to genuinely care about my issues and went above and beyond, when it seemed my symptoms were unrelated to allergies, to suggest to me other options for help. I really liked her and the staff. The wait time was slightly long but they were very apologetic and aware. Highly recommend!

I was made to wait in the room for 20-30 several times between the nurse and doctor visits. I was there for 1.5 hrs and attended for approximately 30 mins. It seemed like the doctor was seeing multiple patients at the same time and therefore was made to wait. Very unprofessional. No value of patient's time.

I have seen many allergists in my life, and I am thrilled to say I finally have one I will return to. Dr Luna and the nurses were kind, efficient, thorough, and well-educated. Those should be givens, but sadly they are not in other places I’ve been. I was given the testing I requested, plus an additional test so the doctor felt more confident with the results and diagnosis. She spent a lot of time listening to me, asking questions, and I never felt rushed or pressured. They are not selling you allergy shots or their own preferred methods, they’re simply there to help ease the agony of allergies (and many other ailments like asthma). The online registration ensured zero wait time (again, not always the case), I had zero paperwork to fill out (see prior comment), and the offices were clean, easy to find, and well located. I felt immediate relief leaving them just knowing I have a place I can trust with a problem I’ve suffered from my entire life.

The office was very thorough and pleasant. I was immediately checked in, had a short wait before I was in a room. I actually waited about 20 min past my appointment time but the techs checked in and apologized twice. Dr. Luna apologized and let me know I had her full attention, which I appreciated. I honestly have never had such a thorough appointment with a medical professional. Carla Luna checked in with me when she was running late (all of 10 minutes) and made me feel like my time was important. Really talked through my situation and concerns. Most doctors rush off to the next patient, but she sat with me until all my questions were answered. More medical professionals should be like her..... thanks for making me feel heard!

Very friendly office. Took my 18 month old daughter for a skin test. Staff was great with her, appreciated their thoroughness is going over potential allergies. They let us make a bit of a mess during the skin test to prevent her from scratching her back. Very great staff and Dr Luna was so kind.

Dr. Luna is so kind and a great listener. I have been to many doctors in my life and she was so much better than any I have seen. She made such a detailed and clear plan for me and listened to what I was saying. Very respectful and easy to talk to! All the office employees are super sweet as well, I highly recommend this doctor and office!
