Dr. Charmi Shiyarwala's passion for eye care began with her first pair of glasses as a child, further fueled by her experience as an optometric technician during college. She graduated with honors from the Michigan College of Optometry in 2013 and completed externships at Kresge Eye Institute, John Dingell VA, and Balian Eye Care. With a decade of experience in primary eye care across Illinois and Northwest Indiana, she has developed a keen focus on ocular diseases like glaucoma and macular degeneration, as well as specialty contact lens fitting and pediatric care.

I enjoyed my visit with Dr Shiyarwala - she was very kind and patient and answered all my questions. The office was a little frustrating; I wish they had told me before my appointment that my insurance doesn't cover contact lens exams and I would be paying out of pocket.

Booking with Dr. Shiyarwala and Dean Optical was a dream. Booking through Zocdoc was simple and easy, and they sent virtual forms to fill out so that my experience in the office was as smooth as possible. Everyone there was just lovely, from the doctor herself, to her nurses, to the receptionist, who all did their best to make my experience as great as possible. I would highly recommend them.
