About Dr. David Hammes

David Hammes, O.D. received his Doctor of Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry in 2004 and earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Saint Louis University. Dr. Hammes has been practicing optometry since 2004 and specializes in specialty contacts and the management and treatment of dry eye. As a second-generation optometrist, he has always had the desire to help people maintain their most precious sense – their eyesight. Dr. Hammes believes that helping the people in his community is one of the most rewarding experiences of being an optometrist. When Dr. Hammes is away from the office, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. He also likes to stay active and enjoys traveling, skiing, biking, and playing golf.
