About Dr. David Wertheim

David Wertheim, MD, is ProHEALTH's Chair of Allergy & Immunology and is Board Certified in Allergy & Immunology and Pediatrics. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from Drexel University. He completed his internship and fellowship at Schneider Children's Hospital. Dr. Wertheim teaches Allergy Fellows in Training in the clinic at Northwell and serves as the Director of Allergy for St. Francis Hospital. During his training, he won the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology College Bowl Competition. He serves on the Board of the Long Island Allergy, Asthma and Immunology Society and was the incoming President in 2020. Dr. Wertheim sees both pediatric and adult patients. He has a special interest in food allergies and offers Oral Immunotherapy (OIT).

Thorough, knowledgeable, pleasant and professional.
Poor bedside manner, dismissed all of my feelings and concerns, and I overheard him make a rude comment about me before coming to see me in the room. Did not feel supported at all.

Very thoughtful about your symptoms. Went out of his way to squeeze me in when I was having the allergic reaction. Set me up for future testing. Wonderful communicator, made sure you understood what he was explaining.
Dr. Wertheim conducted tests and diagnosed my son's allergies. He helped us develop a plan to treat his reactions and avoid more serious issues. The staff at the office was very also very helpful.
He is kind, patient, and explains things clearly. I appreciate him and his office staff for squeezing us in for an appointmemt!
