Dr. Eleanor Ginn, MD

Primary Care Doctor
7110 Lawyers Rd, Charlotte, NC
My path to medicine started in public health. In college, I was fascinated by how interventions could shift health outcomes for entire populations. Partway through, though, I realized what I valued most was getting to know people on an individual level. Medicine gave me a way to do both: improve health and build real relationships with the people I care for. Family medicine is the perfect blend of those two worlds. My focus is on prevention, and I see patients across the full range of life - when they're well, when they're sick and everywhere in between. One of the most meaningful parts of this work is caring for multiple generations of the same family. When a patient's grandparent, parent and newborn all come to see me, that's something I feel genuinely honored by. Getting to know my patients as people, not just as medical cases, is one of my favorite parts of the job. I like to learn about their interests, their family members and what they do for fun. That kind of connection shapes how I practice. Before medical school, I had the opportunity to work in public health settings that shaped my perspective on medicine, including programs at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). I have also been recognized with several honors, including the Ottilie Stipend from the University of Iowa Department of Family Medicine, the Phi Beta Pi Medical Fraternity Scholarship and the Dean's Scholarship from Carver College of Medicine.
