Patient reviews for Dr. H. Jay Wisnicki
He is my favorite doctor!! Staff efficient and helpful; Accommodating office visits; His evaluation is thorough, experienced diagnostic skills; His genuine personal interest and sense of humor during a long-term follow up visit after undergoing eye muscle surgery expertly performed, just made seeing him for my check-up altogether perfect. Best eye surgeon - I am so lucky I found him!
Fast and painless. Doctor was knowledgeable and friendly. The office handles a lot of patients and I can certainly see them getting backed up; that said, today they operated like a well-oiled machine. I arrived thirty minutes early and the staff was able to squeeze me in a bit ahead of my appointment. This was much appreciated. The physician and nursing staff were knowledgeable and welcoming. I was "processed" quite quickly; I wish I'd written down my questions beforehand as I inevitably missed a few. Everything moves quickly here, so I'd recommend you come with notes to make sure you don't forget to mention any relevant details. All in all, I'm very satisfied with my experience today. Thanks Dr. Wisnicki!
Friendly staff. They took the time to explain tests before giving them. Dr.wisnicki took time to explain tests. After 3 years he is Helping to set me on the right path to finding out an answer for my problems with my eyesight .
Always a good experience...
Well worth the wait for this fantastic physician. He really spent the time and did not rush.
The office staff were warm, welcoming, and attentive. I arrived 5 minutes ahead of my appointment and it started at-the-very-stroke of on time. Dr. Wisnicki was thorough, attentive, and—importantly for me because I’m a bit nervous about my procedure—more than accommodating of time for questions (and very thorough answers). All in all, a great appointment (which says a lot because I have been nervous for weeks about it!).
Very satisfied with the service.
Fixed my strabismus in one surgery! For the first time in 22 years I wasn’t seeing double.
Went there for an update on my eyes. The staff were polite. The doctor was brief , but relatable and informative. The scheduling staff were professional as well. Will be returning in a few weeks for more updates!
I noticed that another patient was booked for the same time slot we had, seems like they double book. We saw dr Wasniki for no longer than 2 minutes and he didn’t take the time to explain why my son had strange eye movements. The optometrist didn’t do a refraction test and didn’t explain why.
It was slow to see the doctor but it was deliberate as he is an expert in one of the conditions I suffered from so he wanted to take extra time to chat with me. He's excellent and his staff is wonderful. Highly recommend.
Professional. Friendly. And the procedure worked. I only wish I had found him years ago. Thanks again for fixing my eyesight!
Very quick from check-in to being called for my visit. Nice staff. Knowledgeable doctor.
Dr. Winsnicki is wonderful. I have terrible anxiety when it comes to my eyes, and after letting him know he talked me through the whole appointment and was very reassuring. Caring and patient doctor. HIGHLY recommended
The office staff is very congenial and Dr. Wisnicki is very professional and competent. It is comforting when the appt goes smoothly as there is so much stress when there is trouble with your eyesight.
I was unimpressed.
We had a great experience. The wait was very short, everyone was very friendly and helpful. Dr. Wisnicki was very kind and patient and gave us all the information we needed. Would definitely recommend him!
He seemed to be overbooked, but he did not spend much time with patients. I suspect it is because he has his assistants do a lot of preliminary eye test before you see him, so that they don't take up too much of his time.
Everyone at the front desk and the staff that I met with today were incredibly nice and accommodating, and even though the wait time was a little longer than I had budgeted time for, I came out thinking that it was a very pleasant visit. Dr. Wisnicki was great and super informative, and he took the time to diagnose my problem but also did not waste anytime once I met with him. I highly recommend this practice!
Good experience. Professional and knowledgeable staff. Doc is funny too. Love that.
Appointment was successful to get the testing and prescriptions I needed. However I was told the wait between the initial screening and seeing the DR. would be 20 mins, I waited an hour before seeing the DR. Once in with the DR. he was quite quick and just asked simple questions and was printing perceptions. I had to inquire to ensure the glass RX was correct to make she he looked it over from what the nurse had previously done. If I didn't say something I would have been given a RX that wasn't correct. Very basic routine and tries to get you in and out the door which is frustrating after you have an hour wait.
I've been a patient of Dr. Wisnicki since I was born, wouldn't go anywhere else!
The Dr. was knowledgeable and answered all my questions. The front desk was very helpful and the optometrist , who took my History and performed a small eye check was very polite and efficient. Downside would be the wait longer than an hour and Dr. Wisnicki seemed to listen to my concerns carefully and answer all my questions, but I did not feel the caring and true patient centered care in his bedside manner. I felt as a mere number. Perhaps his office should t double book more people than he can see, so that he can be less stressed and truly make his patients feel his caring and passion to help those with eye problems. Oh and not to mention that although I completed the Check in Online via Zocdoc, the office of Dr. Wisnicki never received my check in forms.
For a very long wait (>1 hour), Dr. Wisnicki could have at least alloted 10-15 minutes for my visit, instead of what was at most a 5-minute visit. Some might call this "efficient," but I have been to providers who were efficient and had great bedside manner. Sadly, this was not the case. It felt like an eye care factory. The intake assistants/techs were friendly and probably the best part of this practice. The front desk was not welcoming, and answered my questions with attitude.
Great eye doctor - very knowledgable, thorough and does not rush you!
Great doctor, humorous and knowledgeable. Had me completely content on knowing that he knew exactly what I came to him for. He's definitely going to be my go to eye doctor from now on!
The appointment was for my son, who is six years old. My mother brought him so I am communicating her feedback. They had to wait a long time and there was nothing in the waiting room for kids to do or play with -- no book, no toys or games, etc. The TV was on with an adult show. When my mom asked if it was possible to put on something for kids (only kids were waiting) the staff said they did not know how to change the channel. The doctor himself was good in terms of being knowledgeable and communicating his diagnosis and suggestions in a clear way, but we were looking for a more kid-friendly practice and doctor who has a more kid-centric approach/manner.
Extremely knowledgeable and kind.
Great location, doctor, staff and office. I caught them on a bad day- computers were down, none of the forms I filled online transferred :( I was seen at 10:20 for a 9:15 appointment. Couple regular patients went in ahead of me. Ah well!
It was great, he answered my concerns and gave me some options.
The receptionists are pleasant. David and Dr.Wisnicki are friendly, professional and on point. I had a wonderful and informative visit. Thank you!
this doctor is the best eye doctor in the city. i strongly recommend visiting his clinic super expert
Let's just get this out of the way: Yes, the wait is insane. Truly bonkers. But for me, a person who has struggled with strabismus my entire life, I'd probably wait twice as long to get my vision corrected. And that's what Dr. Wisnicki did for me. He performed surgery on my left (esotropic) eye and by the time I woke up from surgery I could already tell my vision was different. It is a relief to drive, watch TV, hold conversations, and have my photo taken without worrying about my eye (or working to try to achieve monocular vision). Thanks so much, doc.
When I finally got too see the doctor he wasn't very greetable and he rush pretty much I guess he had to leave after 1 I'm assuming because my appointment was suppose to had been 1:15 pm and I got a call around 10:20 am today if I would like to reschedule my time to 11:15 am because the doctor was leaving early it was a horrible experience I would not recommend anyone to come here. He said it was nothing he can do for me so I will get a second opinion. Because I felt he rushed and I felt uncomfortable with him he was very nice to other patients and when it got too me he was just flat and disappointed he just look If like he was ready to go honestly. But I won't come back ever I didn't feel welcome at all
I saw someone for one type of eye exam within 10 minutes of my arrival, had my eyes dilated, then saw Dr. Wisnicki about an hour and 20 minutes after I arrived for about 10 minutes. The first exam was a bit confusing and caused me to see double a few times, and I had not had that experience before. Dr. Wisnicki answered all my questions and was as usual very pleasant.
Visit was fine. There has been some confusion with the insurance though
Great. Very thorough.
I am only 13 years old but l have been with Dr. Wisnicki for a few years now. I like the fact that he is friendly and takes his time to make sure everything is alright!
Very professional and respectful. I highly recommend this eye doctor office.
Fantastic doctor Worth the wait
Can't say enough about this amazing human being. We have seen Dr. wisnicki since the early 90's, moved out of state for ten years and back. There's just no comparison. His professionalism and bedside manner is of excellence. I'm just glad to be able to have this doctor again in our family. Absolutely the best according to my adult kid, teenager, and the rest of us.
Dr. Wisnicki fixed me! I was walking around feeling dizzy all the time, until he figured out that I had hypertropia in my left eye. Dr. Wisnicki corrected the problem surgically with a perfect result. It took about 3 months to fully feel the difference and adjust after surgery. Strabismus is gone now and I can walk down the avenues without having to shut one eye, I can drive long distances again and watch movies without strain. I am glad I opted for the surgery after diagnosis. For a while I had prism lenses and those just mess with your brain, especially, if hypertropia is diagnosed later in life. I was in my late 40ies at the time.
I loved the personnel working there, everybody is very polite and nice.
Always friendly and professional. Always feel like I'm in very good hands.
Very nice doctor. Listens and explains. Only problem was a long wait time.
He's always friendly, personable and funny.
Excellent thorough doctor; friendly efficient staff. Great experiment overall. Highly recommend.
Appointment was 2:45. I still was not seen at 4:00 and there were two patients ahead of me. This is always the case at this office whether you are the first appointment or scheduled in the middle of the day. I will never return.
