Getting to know Dr. Jared Wilke

My name is Jared Wilke, Psy.D. and I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist in the state of California and Texas. Much of my practice has been working with children, teenagers, and their families. I also enjoy helping individuals and couples/marriages. I enjoy being able to help people and give good guidance to help treat issues that many people face such as depression, anxiety, OCD, parenting issues, family conflicts, and more. Please note that I only accept insurance in the state of Texas and will only be able to do video sessions for Texas residents. For California residents, I do not take insurance directly and see patients in person or over video.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I use a wide range of interventions and treatment modalities including Family Systems, Psychodynamic and CBT (along with a few others). My main approach to therapy is to help my clients resolve the issues and problems that they are facing in their life. I look at therapy as basically problem solving, with working together on figuring out the best approach to working through difficulties clients are facing. I also provide Christian Counseling for clients who would like that therapy perspective.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I prefer to provide action items for clients to use to help them while in-between appointments. I see my job as helping people gain improvement and reducing symptoms as quickly as possible, so they can rely on their new skill sets to move forward in a healthier way.
