“Easily the most productive medical appointment I've ever had. The mixture of professionalism and friendliness was just right for me and made me go from being very nervous about the appointment at the beginning to feeling comfortable and safe in seemingly no time. The means of video call was convenient and easy to use while the handling of documents was quite professional and secure. Not once during my appointment did I feel like I was being run over without a chance to express my opinions and concerns; in fact I was encouraged to stop or put a pause on the conversation to do exactly that if I felt that I needed to or if something needed to be said. Dr. Jen showed no shortness of care and concern for my treatment and my wellbeing and made sure that I felt heard about my concerns. I genuinely wish that every appointment with every care provider out there could be this good. ”

About Dr. Jennifer Veldhuyzen
Hi there. I’m Jen Finelli, or, professionally, Jen Veldhuyzen, MD, SAMFE. I earned my Doctor of Medicine from Ponce Health Sciences University School of Medicine and completed my Bachelor’s degree at the University of Virginia. I also completed an internship in Family Practice at Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center. I’m a former military physician and sexual assault medical forensic examiner, currently completing my Fellowship of Advanced Wilderness Medicine through the WMS. Online, I’m the rogue doctor—a real person without all the glitter and pedestals upholding the fake prestige of the medical community. I’m open about the real issues facing medical providers—such as a 70 percent higher suicide rate than other professions—and because I’m honest about my own health struggles with PTSD, MDD, and fibromyalgia, I’m better equipped to help you find solutions to better cope with stigmatized chronic illnesses. I hurt, so I understand hurting.

Dr Veldhuyzen was very attentive and empathetic to my concerns, and followed thru promptly with pertinent information which she also explained in a way that I could understand, and was able to answer all my questions and propose an ongoing plan for my care. Will absolutely be seeing Dr Veldhuyzen again.
