About Dr. Jie Ling
Dr. Ling is a caring and knowledgeable primary care doctor. She won the 2020 Sutter Quality Care Award, chosen from 5,000+ doctors. Dr. Ling has deep experience in the medical field, having started practice in 1992. Before opening her clinic in Burlingame, she was an attending physician at Asian Health Services in Oakland, working with a medically underserved population. She also provided world-class care for 6 years as an attending physician at China's top hospital, Peking Union Medical College Hospital.
Dr. Ling is a board certified physician. She is devoted to ensuring the longevity of her patients’ health and developing long-lasting relationships with them. Even with years of experience, she always takes her time to give the best care for each individual patient, along with an emphasis on preventative medicine and women’s health.
In addition to her medical training, Dr. Ling also has a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences and has worked on clinical trials with Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson, and other top pharmaceutical companies. Her expertise in drug mechanisms and drug-drug interactions means that she can provide you with the best personalized care—the best medicine combination with minimal side effects.
When not at work, Dr. Ling enjoys traveling, reading, exercise, and spending time with her friends and family. Her husband used to work for Oracle for more than 10 years and she has one son who is studying at UC Berkeley.

I was underwhelmed by my experience with Dr. Ling. She seemed competent and friendly enough; however, the entire appointment was about 10-minutes. This was for a first time meeting/annual exam. The patient history questionnaire was very short (front and back of one page) so I expected her to ask a lot more questions and take a thorough history. I also thought she might actually examine me since I was there for an annual exam. Instead I just got a bunch of bloodwork tests and several referrals to other doctors. My blood pressure was slightly elevated, but instead of having a discussion about it and determining a treatment, she referred me to a vascular specialist. I don’t really understand the point of having a primary care physician if they can’t even treat you for mild hypertension. Perhaps my expectations were unrealistic.

Dr Lin is the best doctor I have ever met. She is very patient and kind. She will listen to me carefully and ask for the details. The staffs are also excellent as well as the front desk. The experience is overall pleasant.

Doctor Ling tried to rush through a lot of items. She’s definitely on a tight schedule. It seems that she’s trying to be done with you ASAP, which means you will get less attention

Dr. Ling is very knowledgeable and responsible. She provided feasible treatment in short time, and also actively gave suggestions about my current medication and daily routine.
However, contacting Dr Ling between appointments is not easy because there seems no way to email or message her. If you call the office, the front desk will record your request and communicate to Dr Ling later. Yet the process may not be smooth and efficient, because they are too busy.
