James Kivlin, O.D. received his Doctor of Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry in 1976, and completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse. He specializes in general optometry and utilizes a diagnostic and therapeutic approach to diagnose and treat eye diseases. Dr. Kivlin is also a certified health coach with an emphasis on nutrition. He strongly believes in nutritional intervention to slow down and prevent eye disease, understanding the nutritional connection to healthy vision. As a result of wearing glasses at a young age, he was always fascinated with understanding how the eyes worked, which led him to choose a career in optometry. Dr. Kivlin has been practicing optometry since 1976, and says that the most rewarding part of being an optometrist is being able to help people see better. When Dr. Kivlin is not treating patients, he enjoys traveling and playing golf in his free time.
