About Dr. John Freiler
Dr. John F. Freiler, the founder of Premier Allergy TX, is passionate about clinical medicine and proud to use his expertise to offer state of the art allergy and asthma diagnostics and treatments for patients under his care. A decorated Air Force Allergist-Immunologist, Dr. John F. Freiler retired from the military in the grade of Colonel in 2021 with 22 years of active-duty military service to serve the San Antonio community. He is board Certified in Allergy and Immunology and Internal Medicine
Dr. John F. Freiler combines knowledge with compassion, and he is proud to offer allergy and asthma relief for patients under his care. Like many patients he now treats, Dr. Freiler suffered from hay fever for years before he realized that his symptoms didn’t have to be part of his everyday life. He knows firsthand how it feels to have allergies keep you from enjoying the things that you want to do, and as a result has become an empathetic doctor who always takes the time to listen to his patient’s needs.
Dr. John F. Freiler earned his medical degree from University of Medicine and Dentistry-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, New Jersey as a recipient of the prestigious USAF Health Professions Scholarship Program. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Wright-Patterson Medical Center, Dayton, OH and gained specialized training in Allergy and Immunology in his fellowship at the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium (SAUSHEC), San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Freiler’s distinguished military career is notable for having served as the Chief Consultant to the USAF Surgeon General for both Allergy & Immunology and Internal Medicine. Additionally, he was selected to serve as core teaching faculty for the Air Force’s sole Allergy and Immunology Fellowship Program. Dr. Freiler has published numerous peer-reviewed manuscripts and has been active in the mentorship and education of health care professionals throughout his career.

I really enjoyed meeting Dr. Freiler! He was kind and made sure I felt comfortable. Sometimes I get anxious around allergists, severe allergies can feel really out of my control. Dr. Freiler was calm and informative, and I wasn’t anxious at all when we discussed my options. I highly suggest this practice.
