About Dr. John Marston

Dr. John Marston is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and a member of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, the Florida Obstetric and Gynecologic Society, and the Florida Medical Association. He served as Chief of OB/GYN at St Joseph’s Women’s Hospital from 2005-2007 and was Vice Chief 2003-2005. He currently is on the Patient Safety Committee at the Hospital. He also serves on the School Board of Trustees of St John’s Parish Day School and is a former member of the board of directors of Alpha House, a shelter for abused and abandoned pregnant women.
Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Dr. Marston was raised in Tampa. Dr. Marston did his undergraduate work at Harvard University, earning a bachelor of arts degree in history in 1981. Following a year of teaching history and anatomy at Berkeley Preparatory School in Tampa, he attended the University of Miami School of Medicine where he received his doctor of medicine in 1987. Upon completion of his internship and residency in OB/GYN at George Washington University in Washington, D.C., in 1991, he returned to Tampa to join Drs. Yelverton, Lerner, Fallieras, and Kilbride in private practice.

This was my first visit with Dr. Marston. I was highly impressed with how detailed and sensitive to my gynecological issues he was. Also, he was very thorough answering all of my questions and provided, what I perceived, as an excellent follow up plan for me.

Dr. Marston has been my OBGYN for many many years. He is caring & kind, gentle, professional and I wish he could be my doctor forever! Even though this is an appoinment no woman likes going to, he never makes anything uncomfortable. Quite simply, I wish all of my doctors were like him. I woule recommend him to anyone!

ne of the best doctor and staff I've encountered in a LONG time. The gals up front made me feel so comfortable and we're very friendly. Dr. Marston met with me first in his office to discuss my issues which made me feel listened to and valued as a patient. Very professional, kind and great outcome from his treatment.
