About Dr. Johnson Wong
Dr. Johnson T. Wong is an Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School and is on faculty at Massachusetts General Hospital, Newton-Wellesley Hospital, and the Massachusetts Eye & Ear Infirmary. He graduated with honors from the California Institute of Technology and earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of California, San Francisco, where he was a Regents Scholar. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the Veterans Affairs Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System – West Los Angeles Healthcare Center and his Allergy and Immunology fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital.
Dr. Wong provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment of patients with allergic, asthma, and immunologic diseases, taking into consideration multiple factors to optimize outcomes. He employs a multifaceted approach to treating patients with nasal, sinus, asthma, cough, and headache symptoms. In cases of chronic hives and swelling, Dr. Wong identifies contributing factors that can synergize to cause severe swelling. For eczema and other itchy skin conditions, he evaluates aggravating factors such as food and airborne allergen sensitivity, contact sensitivity, irritants, dryness, stress, the itch-scratch cycle, and skin infections. When addressing food sensitivity, Dr. Wong carefully sorts out true food sensitivity, intolerance, and misinformation. For patients with immunologic issues, he combines his laboratory and clinical expertise to provide tailored care.
Dr. Wong has been selected in Castle Connolly's America's Top Doctors every year since 2001. He has been recognized by Boston Magazine as a Top Doc in 2001 and annually since 2008. Mixed feelings. Dr Wong was very busy this day and we were being interrupted during the appointment a few times.
One of the employees did not prep me or explain much of what they were doing prior to injecting me with many different needles per the allergy test procedure. They also did not explain the other procedures prior to initiating them and seemed a bit cold when answering questions. I understand that they probably run the same tests every day, but they seemed to not understand that every patient is different and ALL PATIENTS deserve to be told what is about to happen or what they should expect. The person who handles the front desk was incredibly sweet and helpful. Aside from that, Dr. Wong himself seemed attentive and did take his time with me, which is appreciated.

I was seen by Dr. Alanna Wong. I had an excellent experience. Andrea, the medical assistant, did a great job explaining the allergy testing procedure and took care of the entire process efficiently and easily. Dr. Wong took her time to go over my test results and medical history to figure out a variety of options for my future care. She asked follow ups, listened to my concerns, answered all my questions, and gave me an easy to follow care plan to deal with my allergies now and in the future. I was really pleased with the experience and would highly recommend this practice.

I was seen by Alanna Wong and she was fantastic. The doctor and staff exceeded my expectations.
The testing and then discussion with doctor take 3-4 hours. There are two rounds of testing. Overall testing is more thorough at this practice than at another place I went to before. The doctor was very attentive and answered all my questions. I felt unrushed. Overall good experience.

Dr. Wong is ultra thrurough, he spent nearly two hours face to face in my initial consultation going into detail about every ailment I have ever had, and then went into explaining my allergy results. Then gave options for treatment, including short term treatments, and long term treatments. Still TBD how I'll respond to meds but I'm optimistic that if my crazy allergies get any better it'll certainly be under the supervision of Doctor Wong!

Dr Wong and his assistant are pretty knowledgeable, and not only in the field of allergy. In fact, they were first of a number of doctors who pointed me in the right direction, even though my issues were somewhat not directly related to allergies.
Office waiting time could be improved though.

Never mind the long wait in the waiting room, Dr. Wong was extremely thorough during my initial consultation lasting more than 4 hours not counting my 1 hour wait time. Considering how meticulous he was with me, I am only able to owe his running late to the quality care provided to each of his patients! He walks you through his thoughts on diagnoses and treatment plan in a digestible manner, while simultaneously typing out notes in more technical medical language for himself! He is none short of stellar!

My first impression was of a warm and welcoming staff. Dr. Wong has a great group of gals working for him.
Everything from the testing to time spent with Dr. Wong was very thorough. He took an enormous amount of time with me and gave me a lot of hope that he could get my asthma under better control. I've had a really rough road for several years.
But I must say the highlight of the visit was that I got to be one of the first patients to experience the fire alarm going off. As we vacated the building Dr. Wong expressed his happiness at finally meeting all his neighbors. I knew right then I was in good hands. Not only a great doctor but a great sense of humor.

He was very smart, and as quick as possible. Doesn't make much eye contact. Office is tiny, I didn't feel like there was much privacy. But in terms of efficiency, Dr. Wong is spot on. He really knows his stuff.

Overall, pretty disappointed with the experience. Doctor Wong may not be the best doctor for my needs, and cut me off whenever I tried speaking. Didn't try listening, just gave his own opinion and left with little to no helpful information for a pricy appointment.
