Dr. Jonathan Riemer, DO

Dr. Jonathan Riemer, DO

Primary Care Doctor
19485 Old Jetton Rd, Ste 100, Cornelius, NC
As an exercise science major, I developed a strong appreciation for understanding how and why the body functions as it does. Volunteering at a hospital in Boone, North Carolina, while I was in college marked the beginning of my journey into medicine. I found it incredibly rewarding to help tailor care plans that empowered patients to live healthier, fuller lives. Osteopathic medicine appealed to me because of its focus on the body's mechanics - particularly the musculoskeletal system. This field also allowed me to better understand the interconnected nature of human health. My first goal as a family medicine doctor is to ensure that patients feel comfortable fully expressing their concerns. I strive to create an open, nonjudgmental environment that empowers them to pursue their healthiest and most fulfilling lives. I make a deliberate effort to listen attentively, recognizing that subtle, but important, clues are often embedded within a patient's history. Outside medicine, I prioritize staying active. My favorite ways to do that include hiking in the North Carolina mountains, running outdoors - especially at sunset - and weightlifting. I was introduced to disc golf during the COVID pandemic and still play occasionally. Interestingly, Charlotte is considered among the top cities for disc golf in the United States - a fun fact I hadn't known until I started playing.
