Dr. Katherine Ilyayev is a licensed optometrist providing comprehensive eye care at Metro Eye MD. She graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from St. John’s University, and then earned her doctorate from SUNY College of Optometry. Dr. Ilyayev is a highly dedicated optometrist, committed to providing personalized and high-quality patient care. Throughout her training, she placed a strong emphasis on ocular disease, surgical co-management, and speciality contact lenses. She has experience in treating and managing various ocular conditions including glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts, allergic conjunctivitis, and dry eye disease. She also has a special interest in myopia management and uses orthokeratology, soft multifocal contacts, and low-dose atropine to slow the progression of nearsightedness in children.

I had a very pleasant visit today. Starting from the young man who called to confirm my appointment to the staff. Top tier... Everyone was very attentive and knowledgeable. The office itself was very clean, inviting and comfortable. The wait time was less than five minutes to be seen. I was treated with respect and handled with care. The young lady doing my eye exam walked me through every step of the way and when I was not sure and asked questions she did not hesitate to explain in a pleasant manner. Dr. Katherine was very professional and attentive. Listened to my concerns and gave clear answers. I must say I was well taken care of by Dr. Katherine and her staff. If you are looking for professionalism, knowledgeable and respectful staff, an experienced doctor and a clean office, look no further. This is the place to be. They definitely deserve my five star rating.

I recently went for my annual eye exam to see Dr. Katherine, with whom I had a great experience. She was incredibly knowledgeable, took her time with me, and thoroughly explained all of her findings as well as treatment plan. She was kind and had excellent bedside manner!
