Psychologist
FL
Hi! Searching for a therapist can be a stressful process-reading a variety of profiles, learning about specializations, and wondering if the person would be a good fit. I get it! Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Katia Arroyo, and I go by Dr. A (because of the whole rolling the r's situation). I am a bilingual (English & Spanish) licensed clinical psychologist in Florida with a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Albizu University, San Juan, and over 8 years of experience. In addition to working in private practice, I have experience working in State and VA hospitals. My work is focused on helping adult clients who have experienced trauma regain control of their lives. The first sessions are focused on getting to know each other and providing skills to assist with managing the distress presented by trauma. Whether it is depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, eating disorders, women's or relationship issues, I am here for YOU!

What should a new client know about working with you?

It can be hard to process difficult emotions after experiencing trauma. Sometimes the anger can feel so big—like you’re spinning out of control. Other times you might blame yourself for what happened and sink into depression. You might be turning away from your intimate relationships and/or turning to food for comfort. If you’re experiencing disturbing symptoms that are making it hard to live your life, please know that you can take back your power and heal. Imagine what life would be like if you felt calm and peaceful again. You could go to work, maintain healthy relationships, and feel good about yourself on a daily basis. In our work together, you will learn to regulate your emotions and effectively manage your symptoms so you become free from hypervigilance and racing thoughts.

In-network insurances

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
