About Dr. Lauren Zimski
Dr. Lauren Zimski is a board-certified Ophthalmologist specializing in the medical and surgical treatment of eye conditions. She earned her Bachelor's degree from Florida State University and her Doctor of Medicine from the University of South Florida. Dr. Zimski completed her internship at Presbyterian/St. Luke's Medical Center and her residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Colorado's Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Institute. Our office is unique in that we offer very personalized eye care, with Dr. Zimski performing the entire eye exam rather than relying on technicians for most of the work. We feel that this one-on-one time with the doctor is ideal, as it allows her to get to know you and your concerns about your eyes and to answer all your questions. It is our goal to ensure you understand your care and all of your treatment options. We believe it is essential to educate our patients so that we can make treatment decisions together that are ultimately the best for you. Whether you simply need options to improve your reading vision to suit your lifestyle or require management of complex medical diseases of the eye, we feel this is the best approach to providing high-quality, personalized care.

I look for these features: 1. Competent doctor and good communicator - Dr Zimski was both 2. Efficiently run practice - receptionist didn’t know how to use Zocdoc (she informed me I should have printed their docs and brought them on). She was not the regular receptionist so this is forgivable but she apologized when she saw the docs had been submitted on line. 3. Efficient Insurance process - the practice shows all accepted insurances on zocdoc and Dr Zimski was knowledgeable about Medicare requirements.
I liked that Dr Zimski did all the measurements herself. I was never handed off to other staff. I was seen on time and done in 1/2 hour despite an additional test. Parking was easy. Much better experience than the last 2 ophthalmologists I have tried.

Worst office visit I've ever had. Receptionists are condescending and didn't disclose that they charge more than other offices. There's a "coinsurance" they like to push under the rug that costly... hears reception talking negatively about me over the phone in the background because I'm no as fluent in health insurance. Total lack of respect and professionalism... doctor was okay, everything else was awful.

Dr. Zimski was great and her office was efficient and ready when I arrived. If you're a new patient there for a refraction and wear glasses/contacts be sure to bring both so they know your previous prescriptions/measurements.

I wasn't aware that Dr. Zimski was a specialist at the time I booked the appointment (she's an ophthalmologist vs. a regular optometrist like you'd find at Lenscrafters, etc.) and so the only difference from a billing perspective is that the visit is paid for through your normal medical insurance vs. vision insurance.
Dr. Zimski was very professional but warm and informational. I'd definitely recommend her to my friends and family.

She is very nice and professional. She took the time to explain each step in the eye exam process. I got a prescription for bifocal computer glasses when I left. The entire appointment took less than an hour.

Keep in mind that Dr. Zimski is a specialist on the medical insurance side. I was not aware of this, but my copay was minimal. Check your plan, but don't let that deter you from seeing a specialist.
I felt much more at ease about my dry, red, itchy eyes after seeing Dr. Zimski. She explained what was going on and addressed my concerns. The prescription is expected to work within a few weeks, which I appreciate.
I was able to chat with her about my cat. I like having a physician that shows some personality. My appointment was handled efficiently and I was able to get to work within an hour. It's great to be treated well as a patient, even if my appointments are only once a year.

Mrs. Zimski was very nice. She answered all of my questions and gave me recommendations for my eye issues. The office was clean and the staff was also nice. I was nervous about the location and driving downtown but, I didn't have any issues finding it.
