About Dr. Leonard Steiner

Dr. Steiner graduated with highest honors from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry and went on to earn a Master of Science in Human Anatomy—an academic distinction that reflects his deep interest in the broader study of human health and the visual system. Dr. Steiner has dedicated much of his career to expanding the scope and impact of optometry in New Jersey. He played a key role in the development and passage of optometric therapeutic laws within the state and has chaired and served on numerous committees dedicated to public health and professional advancement. He is a past President of the New Jersey Society of Optometric Physicians and was appointed by the Governor of New Jersey to serve on the New Jersey State Board of Optometrists from 2000 to 2010, where he held the position of Board President multiple times. Awards & Recognition Optometrist of the Year – New Jersey (1989) Dr. E.C. Nurock Award (1999) – the highest honor from the New Jersey Society of Optometric Physicians Albert Fitch Memorial Alumnus of the Year (2000) – awarded by the Pennsylvania College of Optometry He is Board Certified and a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry. Dr. Steiner and his wife, Roxanne, have been boating enthusiasts for over 30 years, enjoying time on the water as a way to relax and reconnect outside of the clinic.
