About Dr. Lorena Riveros
Dr. Riveros was born and raised in Colombia. She moved to the sunny state of Florida, where she completed her Bachelor's degree at Nova Southeastern University. She earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Inter American University of Puerto Rico School of Optometry, graduating with High Honors. Dr. Riveros completed an internship in Low Vision and Traumatic Brain Injury at the San Juan Veterans Affairs Medical Center. She practices comprehensive family eye care and low vision eye examinations. Her dedication to her patients is evident, as they continue to return to her for all their eye care needs. She is an expert in pre- and post-surgical care. Dr. Riveros is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity, and the Maryland Optometric Association. Optometry is a family affair for Dr. Riveros, as she and her husband are both sought-after optometrists in the DC metro area.

My appointment with Dr. Lorena was very quick and painless. There were a lot of patients in the office but every step of the appointment was clear, quick, and organized.

She seemed very kind and is a gentle touch, but I'd like to think I came on an off day: the office was packed and more than one person was asked if they would be willing to see another provider. I spent about an hour with a technician and about 2 minutes with the doctor. Overall, all the tests that needed to be performed were performed, it just all seemed a little hectic.

Great appointment! There was some confusion about my actual appointment date/time due to something with the computer, but they still took me and I didn't have to wait too long. I did get a parking ticket outside. I was only 4 minutes late to my meter, so make sure you stay on top of that. Dr. Riveros was great.

I enjoyed my visit with Dr. Lorena Riveros very much. She was very kind, patient, and knowledgeable.
However, I was very frustrated with the overall organization and efficiency of the staff. My appointment was at 10am and I finished at 11:50am. However, after the appointment was over and it took an additional 40+ minutes of speaking with 4 different staff members in order to get a copy of my glasses prescription and figure out whether I had a co-pay or not for my visit. Because of this, I ended up missing my next doctor appointment that was scheduled for 1230PM.

She is amazing! I recommend everyone to go to her , she is wonderful at what she does. She has patience's , she asked questions to see if everything was good & nothing was bothering my eyes. It was an appointment straighr forward no waiting , i appreicate it . Shout out to Dr.Riveros! :)
