Patient reviews for Dr. Lucy Cederholm
Dr. Cederholm is warm, funny, and made me feel at ease. She did a great job of explaining the issue and prescribed medication. The office is easily accessible by public transportation.
Dr Lucy Cederholm was wonderful. I had an urgent and highly distressing eye problem (which turned out to be a corneal abrasion), and she was very kind, patient, helpful, and went above and beyond to make sure I was okay. Her staff was efficient and polite, and I didn't have to wait long. I couldn't ask for a better experience, and I'm very grateful for her help.
Really happy seeing Dr. Cederholm, she was incredibly kind and caring. Took the time to make sure my contacts fit right and felt good.
She’s is very detailed when explaining and very concerned about patients well being. I highly recommend to everyone
she is wonderful over all
Very professional best eye exam I have ever had. Thank you for recommending.
My wait was maybe 10 mintues. She's very friendly and helpful. I love comimg here. I had a bad experience at anothe Cohen's this place is great
She's great. Straight to the point.
Excellent first appointment experience with Dr. Lucy Cederholm! On time and very professional. Afterward I looked at some new glasses and Patrice and Keisha looked after me even though my insurance didnt have coverage. Fully recommended! Thank you team.
Highly recommended A+ very satisfied with my visit. Staff and doctor are a pleasure to deal with

Great office to visit for an eye exam and glasses. The doctor and staff are very professional. Will be returning for sure!
The staff was professional and the location very well kept and clean. Would definitely come again and tell my friends about it. Two thumbs up
Perfect! Quick examination, helped with issue, straight to the point. Definitely recommend and will see her again if needed.
The assistants used several machines to do tests and measurements of my eyes, but didn’t know how to use the machines very well. Moreover, the tests were very unpleasant and took almost an hour. Then, I saw the doctor for five minutes who signed my dmv paperwork before reading the results of the tests.
Very professional and helpful but wait too long. Definitely going back !!
Honestly I was so confused after leaving this appointment my husband was asking me questions after that I couldn’t even answer. It started with team before seeing the actual doctor. It was two young ladies who didn’t introduce themselves so I have no idea who they even were; it seemed like one of them may have been training? Not sure. They sat me down and just started telling me to move from machine to machine without even explaining to me what was being done to my eyes, I literally had to ask each time and got either one word answers or incomplete answers. It was completely rushed and just unprofessional to be honest... after making me close my eyes to put gel on my eye lids for what she called a sonogram, I over hear her tell the other person in the room the machine isn’t working. All she says to me is you can wipe the gel off. No explanation after, no rescheduling to come back, that’s all I got. So when they finished with me they walk me into the doctors office, the doctors back was to me, she barely said hello and l didn’t even turn around when I walked in. Again just rushed with no explanations of anything unless asked. My message to the the doctor and her team..be kind and If you want to get out of the office right at 5PM I suggest you don’t schedule appointments after 4PM. I won’t be returning.
I was on the waiting room for almost one hr before the doctor called me
The appointment was very pleasant, nice staff, extensive exam. I was pleased and will continue to use them as my go to eye care location.
OK visit overall. Wait time was one hour which is really considering that you book for a specific time to go.
Incredibly rude staff. Two hour wait. Despite my saying over and over that I didn't think it was required, they made me sit through a half hour's worth of exhaustive and largely pointless eye exams (which they charged me for) and which they performed *before* asking me what my issue was. All I needed was a ten minute consultation with a doctor and an antibiotic. Avoid avoid avoid.
Was fast and professional. Had no problems with me taking my prescription elsewhere to get glasses. Answered all my questions and I wasn't rushed at all despite the small wait and amount of people waiting to be seen.
I have no problem with waiting however waiting for 1 hour and 45 mins with no apology or any indication of remorse from the reception team, assistant, or doctor is frustrating and insulting. I can see that the team has decency and is made up of generally kind people but maybe they could work on caring about their patients time especially when they actually make an appointment. In addition to the wait, the doctor and her assistant were extremely short and disinterested in speaking with me.
All my insurance information was sent to the office 2 days before my appointment. The receptionist waited until I arrived to finally see if I was eligible for a visit.
Great and professional doctor , the staff was very kind friendly...
Felt Lucy was very salesy and was using any conceivable angle to bully me into purchasing glasses when I did not need them. While just my personal opinion I felt she used a position of authority to make everything lead to an upsell purchase when all I want is a health check. I would absolutely not trust her to give impartial advice to someone just interested in having their eyes examined.
I made an appointment for my husband to see the Dr. at 10:15am. When my husband got to the optical store, he was told the doc won't be there until 11am. By the time he got his eye exam done, it was 11:45am already. The staff working on the optical store gave him conflicted information about insurance coverage, and it seems they only interested in selling their eye glasses, not really helping customers.
For a routine eye visit, this doctor put me through a series of unexplained tests I've never had before, and she charged my insurance much more than any other optometrist I've seen in New York. I was also in the exam room the same time as another patient. I was there an hour and a half for an appointment that normally takes 20 minutes at other offices. I don't recommend her.
Dr. Cederholm is great and so are her assistants who conduct the eye tests. HOWEVER, the office staff where you check in are EXTREMELY RUDE. If you can overlook the front line, you'll be satisfied with the actual eye check. The woman who runs the retail side is also very customer-service oriented. It's just a HORRENDOUS FIRST IMPRESSION with the front-line office staff. I had called in advance and confirmed my insurance on file. When I arrived, the girl at the desk was so very rude and rolled her eyes and proceeded to tell me that I had not given any insurance information and "I didn't talk to you" -- another office staff staff overheard and proceeded to clear up the situation since my insurance WAS in the system, as I had indicated and confirmed prior to my arrival.
The Dr was very nice, quick, professional. The staff at the Cohen's optical where her office is located were not. They put me through contacts fitting even though I only wanted glasses because the team did not communicate. And then they would not give me my PD number so I can order glasses online, and were very rude about it why I asked why I couldn't have that number. I also saw the manager scold the admin in front of me and everyone else there. Poorly run space, which is too bad because the dr is lovely.
I really didn't like my Pre-Screening experience but I enjoyed the Doctor herself.
This office was extremely unprofessional. I was astonished at the lack of respect and disregard for clients' time. I waited approximately an hour to be helped after arriving promptly at my schedule time for a simple eye exam. Upon arrival I was told the wait would be 15 minutes. 45 minutes later, I asked once again, and was told I would be helped soon. Nearing the end of the hour long wait, several other frustrusptad patients left upon realization of the doctors lack of professionalism. As someone who works long hours and has to take time off to accommodate to a doctors working hours, I hope this event should deter other from visiting this doctor who is looking for competent and prompt service.
She seemed to Rush me since I had medicaid and didn't seem to care much.
The doctor was very nice and accurate. The persons selling the glasses were super friendly and give me a 50% discount because of Black Friday. I still don't understand how they price the glass frames. It seems a bit too expensive to me but I think this is on average a common problem with glass frame. Also, they provide a small selection of free frames.
Her assistant was nice, but halfway through my eye exam she brought another patient in the room to get started on them. They didn't seem to really care much about me as a patient, they just wanted to get my exam done and get my contacts ordered, which would normally be fine, but I was having issues with my left eye which turned out to be swollen. I wouldnt recommend if you want s doctor that knows you and cares, but if just want to get in and get out then this is the doctor for you. When the doctor actually reviewed my results with me she was a little rude and not helpful.
