Dr. Luis Lopez-Benitez was born in Puerto Rico. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He got his bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez Campus. He studied medicine, and completed his internship and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine, where he practiced at the Caribbean's busiest Medical Center. There, Dr. Lopez-Benitez had extensive exposure to high risk obstetric patients referred to their unit from all over the island, as well as from some of the US Virgin Islands. In addition, he had plenty of exposure to complex gynecologic surgery, principally due to the scarcity of gynecologic oncology services in the island. He has been practicing in Las Vegas since 2007.
In order to provide more personalized care to his patients, Dr. Lopez-Benitez decided to open his solo practice in the North West of the Valley. Dr. Lopez-Benitez has special interest in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. He understands that most surgeries that have traditionally been done as open cases (laparotomy) can be done laparoscopically. Dr. Lopez-Benitez has medical and surgical privileges at Centennial Hills Hospital and Mountainview Hospital.
