Maria Basile, MD is a member of the Ophthalmology Practice at the Beth Israel Medical Group. She specializes in the medical, laser, and surgical management of patients with glaucoma, as well as small incision cataract surgery.
Dr. Basile earned her Doctor of Medicine from the State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center. She completed her residency training in Ophthalmology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York. She then went on to complete fellowship training in Glaucoma at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai with Dr. Steven Podos, prior to joining the Beth Israel Medical Group.
Dr. Basile is also an Adjunct Professor of Ophthalmology at NYEE, involved in supervising and teaching residents. She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Glaucoma Society. Dr. Basile has presented her research at national ophthalmology meetings and authored book chapters.
