Mount Sinai Doctors is growing! Beginning on February 18th, Dr. Panganiban will be moving their practice to the building immediately next door at 108 Delancey Street. This is due to the expansion of Mount Sinai Doctors practice. We look forward to seeing you there!
Dr. Panganiban is a board-certified ophthalmologist. She earned her medical degree from Albany Medical College. She then completed a one-year internship in internal medicine at North Shore LIJ followed by residency in ophthalmology at SUNY Stony Brook where she served as chief resident.
Dr. Panganiban focuses on comprehensive ophthalmological care including the diagnosis and treatment of dry eye and blepharitis, cataracts, glaucoma and diabetic eye disease. She is committed to providing her patients with excellent and compassionate care.

Dr. Panganiban or "Dr. P" was very thorough, kind, and answered all my questions. I came in anxious and left feeling calm and settled on my treatment plan due to both Dr. P's bedside manner and knowledge. It feels like she actually cares for her patients. The front desk staff was also very helpful and attentive as soon as I walked in. I was immediately taken to a room at my appointment time and seen by the doctor within a reasonable time.

I went to the doctor to follow up on our urgent care appointment over the weekend. The doctor was very thorough and answered all my questions. I’m so used to quick in and out doctor visits, but I really appreciated the doctor listening to me, answering my questions, and taking her time with the exam.

The doctor is ALWAYS running behind (confirmed by her staffs and two patients). I witnessed an altercation where a patient detailed all her terrible experiences with this doctor and her office, including canceling the patient's appointment last minute. Her office lacks accountability or remorse regarding her booking system. I would recommend going to another specialist instead.

Appointment was fine. Doctor was thorough although at first I wasn’t sure if she was actually listening to my concerns. But she really looked at my eyes which was nice.
Problem came with the follow up appointment. I was late because I got lost since I had to take a different train. I called ahead saying I would be late. But when I got there the appointment had been cancelled cuz I was a “no show.”
So just know there is a 10 minute grace period and if you arrive at 11 minutes they won’t see you. My first appointment I waited much longer than 10 minutes to see the doctor.
Staff is friendly, doctor is thorough. But I think the lack of communication to me about their policy when I called ahead is enough that I won’t be going back to that office.

I saw Dr. Panganiban for cellulitis on my lower eyelid. It was painful and I was able to see Dr. Panganiban the next day. She immediately recognized my problem and explained the reason(s) for the condition, and noted that it was causing an infection which needed to be treated ASAP. She made detailed notes in my Mount Sinai 'MyChart" for me, prescribed medications and provided instructions so the condition did not repeat. I highly recommend Dr. Panganiban!

-Nice doctor but way too quickly went to worst case scenarios - told me there was a concern I might have skin cancer and then told me images were unclear and that I might have a brain tumor. Completely unacceptable to give me so much anxiety and fear without talking about the low likelihood of either thing. This was in my first appointment where I came in to discuss a stye. I was then put through many additional tests without consenting to them. Oh and I was charged way more than expected.

The doctor was thorough, which is what I want when it comes to a specialist. She asked appropriate questions based on the pt preference, such as would I preferred detail of everything happening or a summary at the end. I felt confident that she would give me the care that was best for my health.

Meticulously involved in your eyes. She gave my eyes her full attention. Committed to getting you the proper care you need once diagnosed. She was efficient and I felt great to had received her care. She spotted something on my eye other doctors missed. I was so grateful she caught it . She allows you to ask questions and patiently answers them. I am appreciative that kind of care. Her staff member was excellent and attentative and kind. I recommended my family to her after leaving the facility.

I’ve seen other ophthalmologists that I’ve been happy with but Dr. P far exceeds them all. The appt started promptly and was perhaps the most thorough I’ve encountered of any doctor’s visit. We ran a full diagnostic AND sat to review the results and images for each test as it was completed in person / in real time. Dr. P then entered her detailed notes into the portal so I’d have access to them immediately for my review. Her recommendations included an eye wash and drops, which she promptly pulled up in the computer to show me examples of in case I wanted more precise recommendations. There was something in one of my results that prompted her to recommend I consider seeing a retina specialist as a precaution and when I expressed uncertainty about whether they’d take my insurance she provided an excellent answer. While leaving, when I contacted said specialist to set up my appt their front desk informed me that Dr. P had already communicated with them about what she saw on my test!

She gave a very thorough, patient examination. Listened to my concerns and explained every step of the exam and diagnosis clearly. Gave me time to take breaks as I get nervous having my eyes examined and was kind and reassuring. Clear instructions for home care, referrals to other specialists and follow up visit. I will definitely return to her!
My only complaint about this location is that I wasn’t checked in properly so my appointment ran later than expected but the doctor also made a note to report that so it wouldn’t happen again. Overall I am extremely satisfied with the care and service I received.
