Dr. King is a Ph.D. Clinical Psychologist specializing in assessment, therapy, and consultation, maintaining a private practice in San Antonio, TX. With over 15 years of experience, she earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology through Palo Alto University and Stanford PsyD Consortium. She completed her residency in Clinical Psychology at the University of California, San Francisco, and specialized with a residency in Neuropsychology at the Palo Alto Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Menlo Park. She works with a broad spectrum of patients, with expertise in crisis intervention, anxiety and depression, PTSD, military issues, LGBT (especially transgender), couples' work, transitional youth (age 18-25), creativity-related issues, spiritual concerns, and bereavement (including animal companion loss). Dr. King teaches part-time at local universities in Psychology, Literature, and Writing departments. She is an Assistant Clinical Professor teaching Psychodiagnostics at UTHSC Medical School and is active in community psychology through crisis intervention at The Center for Healthcare Services, as well as work with the homeless and battered women. She has served as Director of Clinical Training for the Department of Public Health/Mobile Crisis in San Francisco. Dr. King also volunteers with animals and advocates for awareness of the human-animal bond. Trained analytically with a focus on Object Relations during her UCSF residency, Dr. King has respecialized in cognitive and interpersonal modalities that are interactive, solution-focused, and evidence-based. She has taken additional coursework on neurobiology and psychology to better understand emotional dysregulation and regulation and their relation to life problems. Dr. King provides assessment based on extensive training in neuropsychology, personality, cognitive/IQ, and learning disabilities.
