About Dr. Meghan Moroux
Dr. Meghan G. Moroux is a board-certified ophthalmologist with a focus in comprehensive ophthalmology and cataract surgery. She is originally from Jackson, Mississippi. She received her B.S. degree in Biology from Millsaps College, where she was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa and graduated summa cum laude. She received her medical degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine, where she excelled academically, being inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha and graduating cum laude. Dr. Moroux completed her residency training at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital/Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C. where she served as chief resident. She remains actively involved in teaching the Georgetown ophthalmology residents by supervising their outpatient clinic each month.
Dr. Moroux specializes in diabetic eye evaluations and treatment, medical and laser treatment of glaucoma, and advanced technology cataract surgery including femtosecond laser assisted cataract surgery. She believes in treating each patient as if he or she were a member of her own family and actively engages each patient in his or her own treatment plan.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and new daughter, planning dinner parties with friends, and watching sports.

It is a very busy practice, perhaps overbooked, though I had issues with my insurance provider which contributed to the delay in my particular case. I was there a long time.
Dr. Moroux was very good, though. No complaints about the service itself.

I was concerned about some issues that might have indicated a serious retinal issue, but my usual doctor is in another state. Dr. Moroux did the initial work up and was able to find a retina specialist who could see me the same day. I found the office to be well coordinated and I will continue to see Dr. Moroux if I need to see an ophthalmologist in Virginia in the future.

Dr. Moroux is an excellent listener and obviously well-versed in ophthalmologic medicine. I'm glad there was an opening on her schedule. She quickly diagnosed my condition and presented me with an array of treatment options.

It was an initial visit and scheduled due to a puff test at my optometrist that showed increased eye pressure. Check-in was easy though I did have to fill out a couple forms. This is a complaint of everywhere, not just here...why not present these docs to be filled out in advance electronically? OK, the check-in staff was good. The person (highly trained med assistant) who started me out and did a couple initial tests (I forget their name) was awesome. Explained to me what was going to happen, etc... Had a couple more tests as I hadn't been to an ophthalmologist since my late 20s and I'm 62, and my mom has glaucoma. Anyway, all this was before meeting the doc ho told me I didn't have glaucoma and she even did another pressure test -- both were normal. I liked the doc -- didn't get the feeling I was being rushed at all and she was also very professional. Seemed to me the right combination of "I'm here to do a job and I'm a decent human being." Definitely will go back.

The office was easy to find and had great parking options! The inside was clean and had water bottles available to patients which is really considerate! I went during a busy time so I didn’t mind the wait. The nurse who helped me initially was very kind and warm! Dr. Moroux had the perfect balance of professional and friendly! I would recommend her to everyone!

My experience with Dr. Moroux was exceptional. The Eye Specialists & Surgeons of Northern Virginia’s staff made expectations clear and ensured operations ran smoothly for doctors and patients. At each stage, the staff clearly displayed their expertise and described what would happen next to better help me understand the logistics of care being provided. I was thoroughly impressed with the office’s cleanliness. Not to mention, Dr. Moroux made me feel like a lifetime patient even though it was my first appointment with her. She listened to my concerns, explained possible causes for my symptoms, and offered suggestions that I’m beyond thankful for. She also did a great job making sure I felt helped rather than rush to move on to the next patient. I highly recommend the Eye Specialists & Surgeons of Northern Virginia.

Long wait time. The doctor was helpful, but they charged a large "deposit" which is unlike anything I've seen from any doctors office. The office has said I may receive a refund once insurance goes through. Still, the sticker shock of a large sum instead of my usual co-pay is less than ideal.
