ABOUT DR. MILANA SAPOZHNIKOV
Dr. Sapozhnikov was born in Brooklyn and has lived in Brooklyn her entire life. She completed her medical and surgical training in Ophthalmology in New York City. Her ability to speak English, Russian, and Spanish has allowed her to better take care of her patients and properly address their questions and needs. Dr. Sapozhnikov specializes in cataract surgery, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery, vision correction procedures, laser procedures, and cosmetic treatments. Dr. Sapozhnikov has extensive experience in management of various eye diseases such as dry eye disease, chalazion, hordeolum, cataracts, glaucoma, myopia, hyperopia, diabetic retinopathy, hypertensive retinopathy, and age-related macular degeneration. She is excited to continue working in her home community and improve eye health for her patients. In her free time, Dr. Sapozhnikov enjoys spending time with her family, traveling the world, and exploring new places in New York City.
EDUCATION
Dr. Sapozhnikov has excelled throughout her educational career. She was top of her class in every school she attended. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a 4.00 GPA from Macaulay Honors College at Brooklyn College, a premier honors program, with a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biology and Chemistry. Dr. Sapozhnikov graduated and received her Medical Doctorate (MD) degree from SUNY Downstate Medical Center. During medical school, Dr. Sapozhnikov was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Medical Society which is the highest honor society in the field of medicine.
Dr. Sapozhnikov completed her Ophthalmology residency program at SUNY Downstate Medical Center where she had the opportunity to work with patients in the most prestigious eye hospitals in New York City.
During her residency, she received her surgical and clinical training from prominent ophthalmologists in the fields of cornea, glaucoma, retina, oculoplastics, uveitis, and neuro-ophthalmology.

Dr. Sapozhnikov is the best at what she does! I went in with a horrible stye and for an injection. She n=made the process so easy with her kindness and endless patience answering every question I had. the stye that I had for 6 months is finally gone thanks to Dr. Sapozhinikov.

I had afantastic experience with Dr. Sapozhnikov. Staff was warm and welcoming, office is clean and organized, calming atmosphere. Dr. Sapozhnikov took time explaining my eye exam, answered all my questions and made sure I was comfortable with the process. Highly recommended!

Had some eye irritation I wanted checked out after visiting urgent care a few weeks ago. This was the best eye doctor visit I have ever had in my entire life.
Dr. Sapozhnikov was so thorough in the questions she asked and how she explained everything. She explained what she saw and possible reasons why I was experiencing what I was. She explained the prescriptions I needed, and how to use them. She also explained some precautionary follow up items I might want to consider taking/testing the upcoming months.
I took her up on these recommendations and will be a long-term patient now because of this positive experience. Highly recommend this practice, thank you!

She’s a great doctor. She’s lovely. Her staff are lovely and calm. The office is calm. You’re not treated like you’re in the military like you are with some medical offices. I would highly recommend her. She’s very professional, very thorough, and I dislike most doctors.

I had an emergency eye issue and was able to book an appointment here right away. I didn’t see the Dr listed because she was at the other location but the Dr I did see was very kind , listened to me, gave me a thorough exam and found the issue. I would recommend this office.

I was setup with a different doctor who was not an ophthalmologist who did not communicate any of this. They also did a minor procedure that was poorly explained and probably unnecessary. I agreed initially assuming I needed it and regret it now with increased eye irritation.
