About Dr. Min Ku
Dr. Min Ku was born in Seoul Korea and was raised in the greater Philadelphia area. She attended high school locally at Moorestown Friends School and attended University of Pennsylvania where she received her undergraduate degree. She earned her medical degree at Penn State College of Medicine, completed a residency in internal medication at Hershey Medical Center and completed a fellowship in allergy and immunology at Long Island College Hospital. Dr. Min Ku has been in practice since 2004. She is on staff as an allergist at Virtua, Cooper, Jefferson Bucks, Jefferson Northeast, Holy Redeemer and Abington Jefferson. She is a member of the American College of?Allergy,?Asthma?& Immunology, the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology, the Pennsylvania Allergy and Asthma Association and the New Jersey Allergy, Asthma and Immunology Society. She has been named a Top Doc in Allergy & Immunology by SJ Magazine on numerous occasions. Dr. Ku is the mother of two children. She is an active member of her church in Philadelphia and has volunteered on several occasions in underdeveloped countries including Guatemala, El Salvador and Paraguay. She enjoys exercising, gardening and spending time with her family.

The doctor seems very knowledgeable and very disparaging. I went in for an allergy test and even as she was taking my medical history she treated me with suspicion. She refused to test me for one of my perceived allergens because she said she didn’t believe me. She tested me for the other ones, but after getting positive results from both the blood and skin tests she told me that they are inconclusive and that my “story isn’t convincing”. My story about having a food allergy. I couldn’t believe she used those words. It felt like she was trying to minimize my experiences and my reactions to the test. The nurses were perfectly nice but Dr. Ku made me feel small and stupid.

I expected to like this doctor based on her reviews and I was thoroughly disappointed!! I am a patient with multiple chronic illnesses so I constantly see doctors and this was one of my most negative experiences to date. Dr. Min Ku, MD dismissed and questioned the severity of my symptoms. When she denied the diagnosis I was seeking she never provided an alternative or an explanation to her treatment methods. I had to blatantly ask “what is wrong with my body?” to get a clear answer. Her tone became demeaning as I became upset due to the lack of communication and concern I felt from the doctor. She belittled my genuine symptoms and said I need to “have a heart to heart with a rheumatologist” because I “clearly don’t understand the treatment methods for my conditions”. I am a health professional myself and this interaction felt immature and unprofessional. To end on a positive note, the rest of the office/staff seems nice!
