About Dr. Naheed M Qayyum
Naheed M. Qayyum, M.D., DABIM, is a Board Certified Internist with advanced training in Allergy, Asthma, and Clinical Immunology (adult and pediatrics), practicing since 1987 in south side Chicago and western suburbs.
Dr. Qayyum earned her medical degree from King Edward Medical University, receiving her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery. She completed an Internal Medicine residency at The John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County and a Fellowship in Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology at the Max Samter Institute for Immunology Research at Grant Hospital and Rush Presbyterian St. Luke's Medical Center. She is on the medical staff at Hinsdale, LaGrange Memorial, Little Company of Mary, and Bolingbrook Hospitals. Dr. Qayyum has held leadership roles in local professional organizations and served as President and Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the Physicians of Pakistan-descent Society. She is a member of ISAACI, ACP, APPNA, and PPS.
Her philosophy is to deliver quality care emphasizing prevention and early treatment, minimizing hospitalization and emergency visits. She aims to reduce lost work and school absenteeism and restore patients to normal activities quickly. After controlling the acute phase, she provides an individualized approach to ensure enhanced quality of life with an adequate maintenance plan. Her care is based on a participatory patient-physician relationship, emphasizing education and self-management. She believes an informed patient is empowered, and taking charge of one’s health begins a life-changing experience.
Beyond her professional duties, Dr. Qayyum is deeply involved in community service and philanthropy. Along with her husband, Dr. Ijaz Qayyum, she is a founding member of the Human Development Foundation of North America.

She was very kind, welcoming, knowledgeable, and thorough, as was the rest of the staff! She asked a lot of questions and answered all of mine without being condescending or making me feel silly in any way. She explained the process for allergy testing and I was able to make follow-up appointments quickly! Really glad I chose her to start this process.

When I first came to the office, I was terrified of needles and felt nervous about setting up weekly appointments. Before long, I found myself actually looking forward to stopping by each week because the staff is so friendly. The whole team truly gets to know their patients and remember everyone who comes in - not just their treatment plan, but their preferences, experiences, and life events. They are always ready to help. Their experience treating patients of all ages really shows, and my family loves them. You know you will be in good hands here.

The moment I walked into the office, I was greeted by the fantastic healthcare team who were with me every step of the way. As a new patient, the nurses made sure I was comfortable and acquainted with the regular check-in process and vital checks before I met with Dr. Qayyum. Not even 3 minutes passed by until she greeted me with a bright smile. She carefully listened to my needs and provided the exact care I was looking for efficiently while still being caring and respectful. At the end of the visit, I barely had to worry about insurances and payments due to their flexibility. This clinic is far beyond better than any other allergy clinic I have been to and I highly recommend it.

Dr Qayyum saved my life when I went into anaphylactic shock from aspirin. She has taught me how to manage my allergies and be able to live life without being scared of going into shock again.
Her Office Manager, Dana, is exceptional as well as the rest of the staff. They care, they get to know you and they are very friendly!
