Niki A. Silverstein, M.D., Director of SILVERSTEIN EYE, is a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Silverstein completed her undergraduate degree at New York University and received her medical degree from the State University of New York at Downstate Medical Center. She completed her residency in ophthalmology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Montefiore Hospital and Medical Center. In addition, Dr. Silverstein spent two years working with the pioneer/inventor of modern cataract surgery at the forefront of the current technology (phacoemulsification). Dr. Silverstein has performed over 15,000 cataract procedures and is consistently voted Top Surgeon by Consumers Research.

I waited over a week and paid for a visit with an ophthalmologist, Dr. Niki. I was instead evaluated by an optometrist, working under Dr. Niki. I feel like this should have been made clear to me before arriving at the office visit. The office and visit felt more like a business than a visit to a medical doctor. They did treat my issue and were nice and professional.

I’ve worked in the medical industry for the past 20+ Years. I have to say this office is, hands down, the best run office I have ever had the pleasure of visiting. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable and the office was run like a well oiled machine. The doctor was wonderful and explained everything clearly.

I was impressed with Dr Silverstein, but the office is quite busy and chaotic. I felt shuffled around, I was handled by 3-4 techs or PAs or whomever administered the screening tests. By the time I saw the doctor, I didn't know if she was another "handler" or actually the doctor.
That being said, Dr Silverstein did a swift and effective evaluation of my contacts. I can already see better! It's a shame it felt harrowing to get to the end point.

I was able to get an appointment a month away with Zocdoc. However, yesterday morning I called the office asking if the issue I had was emergent. They moved the appointment to that morning. The tests they gave me were extremely thorough and manifold. They found out my problem which turned out to be pretty common and nothing to worry about. She told me what to do and how to go forward and what to watch for. I had to ask the nurse if the doctor is always this nice and the nurse said yes. I said that you were very lucky working here aren’t you? She wholeheartedly agreed. Dr. Silverstein is extremely reputable, knowledgeable, while being down to earth and loving. Thank you so much to the entire office. Do you have now I have become my doctor!

The office was very busy today but staff got people through the process efficiently. Dr. Silverstein was knowledgeable and thorough - giving me insight into my situation that was far beyond what I'd gotten from the previous two Ophthalmologists that I'd visited.

First visit...she was outstanding. Only suggestion is that I arrived very early for a 3 pm appointment. Office is closed from 2-3 pm for lunch. When the office reopened, I was given 7-8 pages of forms to fill out before I would be called for my examination. Just in the interest of time and efficiency, would be great if the forms were made available while I waited in the waiting room or were even available on line before my appointment. Beyond that, though, really great experience.

There was a problem with my original appointment time (I don’t know if it was a ZocDoc issue or what), but they squeezed me in earlier in the day. They’re quite efficient at moving you through the (very thorough!) pre-testing before you see the doctor, but I did then have a decent wait in the exam room before she ultimately came in. Dr. Niki was warm, friendly, and very knowledgeable, though. I will definitely be back.

Excellent service by the team - you move fairly quickly through the various tests done before you seen Dr. Silverstein. There is a short wait before you see the Doctor, but not too bad. Dr.Silverstein is excellent in explaining test results, addressing any questions you have, and keeping you well informed on what issues there are or what the test results mean. A great team and very well coordinated.

Great! However, the 11:30 AM apt. I booked online Monday, and that was confirmed THREE times before my Wednesday apt was evidently NOT actually booked for 11:30AM. When I arrived (20 min early) the front desk informed me my apt. was at noon, not 11:30AM.

I had filed the paperwork on line. When I got to the office they had only printed half and I had to do the work again. Very annoying, watching people come in the door and seen ahead of me. The computer system should be fixed or clients should just fill out the paperwork in the office.
