About Dr. Puja Shah
Dr. Shah completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois at Chicago, majoring in both Chemistry and Biology. She then earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from Illinois College of Optometry. While there, she tutored her peers and was actively involved in SVOSH, a non-profit charitable organization that provides professional vision care services to both foreign and domestic communities. In 2009, Dr. Shah had the opportunity to travel to India to help the underserved people of Orissa. With this experience, along with the rigorous training she received, Dr. Shah is skilled in treating patients with a wide variety of ophthalmic conditions. Her particular areas of expertise include Glaucoma, Dry Eye, specialty contact lens fitting for Keratoconus and post-surgical corneas, Red Eye, and Allergic Conjunctivitis.

Went in for an eye exam on a Sunday afternoon. Wait time was minimal, in and out in ~30 mins. Dr was polite and had a calm voice, but I could tell she was getting frustrated with me for not being able to tell which version of the chart was clearer (during the lens test), which just made me even more anxious. Nobody likes seeing the doc, especially ones you've never been to before. If you do get your eye exam here and are looking to buy contact lenses, prices here are more (nearly double) than what you can get online.

I was really impressed with Dr. Shah, and her team in the office. I had no wait time. The staff was friendly, and Dr. Shah was extremely thorough. I would highly recommend her.

Dr shah was great! The eye exam and picking out frames only took about 30 minutes from start to finish. I didn't have to wait and the receptionist was very helpful. They had all of my health info from zoc doc so I didn't have to spend time filling out forms. I will definitely recommend.

Dr. Shah was great! She was very knowledge, and I felt extremely comfortable with her (even told her how horrible I had gotten with changing my contacts!). The staff and employees at Grand Central Optical are always approachable, helpful and kind, so I was not surprised that Dr. Shah was so wonderful.

Just had my first appointment with Dr. Shah. She was efficient, quick and kind. The office staff were also great and were very transparent with fees and what costs are covered by my insurance. I will be returning.

Dr. Shah is friendly, professional, and communicative. She gave verbal feedback throughout the exam about what to expect, how things looked, and encouraged how I was doing. It made for a much more pleasant eye exam than I have ever had before.
She also was knowledgeable about my condition and seems extremely competent.
