Dr. Reuben Alexander, known to many patients as Dr. “A”, is a highly experienced optometrist with over 13 years of clinical practice and a strong commitment to exceptional eye care. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology, graduating summa cum laude from the State University of New York at Albany, and received his Doctor of Optometry with honors from Salus University. He later completed an advanced residency affiliated with Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. Before joining InFocus Eyecare, Dr. Alexander served more than 12 years in the U.S. Army, providing optometric care across six outpatient clinics worldwide. He spent eight years as the sole eye care provider at Camp Walker in South Korea, the Joint Multinational Readiness Center in Germany, and Camp Zama in Japan, and concluded his military service at the Pentagon Health Clinic caring for senior military leadership. His leadership roles included Commander, Chief of Ancillary Services, Chief of Clinical Operations during the COVID-19 pandemic, and Chief of Optometry Services. Dr. Alexander’s clinical interests include the diagnosis and management of dry eye disease and glaucoma. He is passionate about delivering high-quality, personalized care and building long-term relationships with his patients. Outside of work, Dr. Alexander enjoys spending time with his fiancée, traveling, exploring new foods, skiing, and staying active through volleyball and pickleball.
