About Dr. Russell Camhi

Dr. Russell Camhi is a primary care sports medicine physician with the Northwell Health Orthopedic Institute. As a non-surgical orthopedic specialist, he provides assessment and care of musculoskeletal issues for all parts of the body. Dr. Camhi reviews multiple non-surgical treatment options to address your pain and, when indicated, performs ultrasound-guided injections using cortisone, hyaluronic acid, and platelet-rich plasma (PRP). He also manages sport-related concussions and serves as the supervising physician for numerous high schools throughout Long Island. Since 2018, Dr. Camhi has been the head team physician for Hofstra University. He is an educator teaching the next generation of physicians and serves as the associate program director for the Primary Care Sports Medicine fellowship at Northwell Health Plainview Hospital. Additionally, he is an assistant professor at the Hofstra/Northwell School of Medicine, teaching medical students as well as residents in family medicine, orthopedics, and physiatry. Dr. Camhi earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Midwestern University and completed both his residency in Family Medicine and fellowship in Sports Medicine at Plainview Hospital.
