About Dr. Susan Margolis

Dr. Susan Margolis is a board-certified, fellowship-trained ophthalmologist specializing in cataract and corneal surgery and laser vision correction. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Summa Cum Laude from Binghamton University with a degree in mathematics. She received her medical degree from SUNY Upstate Medical University. Dr. Margolis completed her internship at Framingham Union Hospital, her residency in Ophthalmology at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, and her fellowship in Cataract & Corneal surgery and Laser Vision Correction at the Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital. After completing her fellowship in 1995, Dr. Margolis became a clinical instructor and taught ophthalmology and ophthalmic surgery to residents in training at Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital, NYU/Bellevue and the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary. She simultaneously began her private practice in Manhattan and has proudly watched it grow over the ensuing 25 years. In October 2020, Dr. Margolis joined the Concorde Medical Group of Northwell as their lead ophthalmologist. Dr. Margolis has dedicated her professional life to providing personalized care to her patients, ranging from general eye exams to cataract and corneal surgery and laser vision correction.

My overall experience from the the booking of my appointment, the updates regarding my appointment, the entire staff as well as Dr. Margolis was outstanding.

The attending assistant was very professional and helpful. The Dr. was also very professional and explained everything clearly. The only downside was the time in the office. I came in at 1:55pm for a 2:15pm appt and left by 3 :55pm. Most of the time was just waiting. But the service was very good.
Office staff were very pleasant and timely with obtaining my information and getting all the testing done before I was seen. Dr Magolis was very informative she answered my questions without rushing and gave me a lot of helpful suggestions, coming back for my annual:)

Patient ahead of me appears to have had a lot of questions for the doctor so this delayed start of my session. Front desk staff took the time to go and get an update on the reason for the delay, without being prompted and updated me of the situation. Technician was very gentle and made the process easy with clear instructions Dr. Margolis is the best ophthalmologist I have ever had, she listens and explains the reason for all her recommendations.
