Syerra received her master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Hofstra University. Through her time in school and working with clients, she has leaned toward a postmodern perspective in therapy that focuses on the strengths of her clients, the here and now, and the realistic steps that can be taken toward the goals and changes collaboratively devised. The main groups she works with are couples, young families, and teenagers who are experiencing internal and external conflicts, stress, communication problems, difficult decisions, and other challenges commonly faced by families.
As a therapist, Syerra strongly believes that all her clients are experts in their own lives, and she is there to help guide them through difficult portions. During each session, she approaches clients from a place of non-judgment, empathy, and positivity to help facilitate change and growth within individuals and family systems, as well as to help them develop new skills that will enable them to thrive in their everyday lives.
