Taylor Spangle, O.D., received her Doctor of Optometry from Indiana University Bloomington and earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology-Chemistry from Manchester University. Specializing in contact lenses, Dr. Spangle has wanted to join the healthcare industry from an early age. She wanted to get to know her patients and their families beyond just when they are feeling hurt or ill. As she grew older, not only did her glasses tend to get thicker and heavier each year, but her mother was also diagnosed with an eye condition requiring specialty contact lenses. That is when Dr. Spangle knew optometry was the profession for her. Being an eye doctor is rewarding to Dr. Spangle. She says that from giving a simple pair of glasses or contacts to managing eye conditions, she can improve patients’ lives by saving or restoring something extremely important to them—their sight. When she is not treating patients, Dr. Spangle loves spending time with her family and loved ones. She enjoys being outdoors, watching and participating in sports and activities, and reading.
