Qualifications and Experience
Dr. Yuri Gelfand grew up in Houston and now treats patients at Medical Center Ear, Nose, and Throat Associates of Houston. He presents a pleasant, attentive demeanor to his patients and always treats them with respect.
A compassionate, detail-oriented practitioner, Dr. Gelfand’s areas of focus include thyroid, parathyroid, voice, and swallowing disorders, as well as allergies, hearing loss, and nose and paranasal sinus surgery. His goal is to provide individualized care and the best possible outcome for every patient.
When he is not in the office, Dr. Gelfand enjoys spending time with his wife and young son. His other interests include reading and exercising.

The office staff was friendly and worked quickly to get me in with Dr. Gelfand. My wait time was minimal and Dr. Gelfand was professional with my exam completed and prescription submitted within a short time.
This was potentially the most unprofessional office I have ever been to. I arrived at 8:45 for my 9am appointment. The two women running the front desk seemed very flustered. Moreover, they were screaming questions to patients across the waiting room and yelling out personal information so everyone in the waiting room could hear. Both women had trouble verifying insurance for patients; I know it was not just for me because I could overhear every other conversation they had in the waiting room. In addition, the women were loudly complaining about insurance companies in front of all of us. Lastly, we all had to listen to one of the women complain about her boyfriend and a recent phone conversation they had. I could not believe how unprofessional the front office was, and I almost left as a result. Outside of the waiting room, I waited over an hour for my appointment. The actual doctor's personal waiting room is bland, and they don't even play music or anything. Dr. Yuri Gelfand seemed nice enough, but there is no way I would ever go back to this office again. There is just no way to separate him as a doctor from the facility itself. The level of confusion and unprofessionalism was astounding.
Dr. Gelfand is the best doctor that I have ever been treated by. He is so patient, courteous and caring. He did everything within his power to not only cure me but to make my experience as pleasant as possible. His warm and approachable nature was such a comfort. I believed that I could ask any questions regarding my care with the expectation of a clear, concise and honest answers. I would like to thank Dr. Gelfand for all of his wonderful care.
He was really good, professional and it felt that he wasnt rushed to go to the next patient (despite the busy workload they evidently had. I will wait to see the effect of the medicine he gave me, but in terms of quality of service, so far it has been great!
I like the doctor but the front end staff I felt was not organize and very slow at what they were doing.
I'm pregnant so I expected the specialist can tell me what medicine (in their specialty field) I can use safely but he doesn't know. At lease he googling and call obgyn for me to find out.
