About Dr. Yuri Gelfand

Dr. Yuri Gelfand grew up in Houston and now treats patients at Medical Center Ear, Nose, and Throat Associates of Houston. He presents a pleasant, attentive demeanor to his patients and always treats them with respect.
A compassionate, detail oriented practitioner, Dr. Gelfand’s areas of focus include thyroid, parathyroid, voice, and swallowing disorders, as well as allergies, hearing loss, and nose and paranasal sinus surgery. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Texas Southwestern and completed his residency at the University of Texas in Houston. His goal is to provide individualized care and the best possible outcome for every patient.
When he is not in the office, Dr. Gelfand enjoys spending time with his wife and young son. His other interests include reading and exercising.

I wish the office would send all the paperwork ahead of time, especially since they are all digital anyways. My appointment was at 1:30 and didn't see the doc until almost 2:30. Doc is very nice, just with the back office was more efficient.

He books office visits on same days as he does surgeries and I waited for 2 hours and was not seen because he was still in surgery at time of my appointment. Don’t book office visits same days as surgeries, no one wants to drive in Houston traffic to sit for two hours and not be seen then have to get back in traffic. Inconsiderate of my Time and money wasted.

I had a really positive experience with this ENT doctor. If I were telling a friend, I’d say they were very professional and paid close attention to every concern I brought up—nothing was overlooked. I came in early for my appointment since it was my first time here and I was seen within 5 minutes of sitting down. The staff was incredible...every person I interacted with was friendly, caring, and professional. The audiologist was a hoot and made me feel comfortable throughout the whole process. I am a terrible patient and basically fear everything medical and the staff put up with me so well and didn't make me feel bad about it. One thing that I also liked was that Dr. Gelfand actually listened to me and understood my complaints with my ears/sinuses. I'm a flight attendant and my ears were constantly blocking which is detrimental to my job, and he came up with an immediate solution and also set long-term goals. Really happy with my visit.

He took real good care of me. Only thing I could have wished for was better coordination between him and pharmacies dispensing medications. His office staff is a bit disorganized, and on one occasion had been told my appointment was lost. But the doctor is great!!

The doctor seemed very educated and like he knew what he was doing. He was able to diagnose the problem within 10 minutes. I do wish however he took more time to understand my health history and hold my hand a little more. It seemed like he rushed through, gave my prescriptions and moved on. Other than that, it was a good experience to say the least.

Staff was professional and polite, I was taken to the room within 10 minutes of my appointment time, but then had to wait for the doctor for nearly 40 min. Once he arrived, he was very pleasant and knowledgeable, and did apologize for the wait.
