Hi there, I'm Aaron! I'm a 2013 graduate of Touro College, School of Social Work, NY, NY. I have found that school taught me the names of things in life, but life taught me those things. I am energized by spending much of my time connecting with people. I am a student of my experiences and try to learn how to live my life better from everyone I encounter. My approach Sometimes men need help in expressing power and so I use my whole self as well as techniques from Mindfulness, IFS, Psychodynamic Theory, Motivational Interviewing, and CBT as proven strategies to achieve congruence and emotional, relational, and professional goals. My focus I primarily assist men with mental health, addictions, or family issues, in becoming congruent to improve their relationships. I can support the inner power and goodness men have to help them connect with their families and better the communities they live in. My communication style In the session, I aim to create a safe space and build trust, where honesty and humor can thrive in the service of positive change. I really enjoy working with my clients in their journey to bettering their lives. My journey to mental healthcare I began as a therapist before licensure when I found out I suffered from mental health issues. I became versed in my particular needs and this enabled me to be there for others in greater ways than before. I feel privileged and energized when I enter the world of my clients and I grow alongside them every session. My goals for you I allow clients to direct the aim of our sessions, short-term and long-term. Goals are provided by the client and I support and reinforce client goals with dialogue around the real desires of my clients. My first session with you The first session would be us getting to know each other in a spirit of acceptance. I will make you feel comfortable talking with me and free to go at your own pace towards the life you want to live.
