Getting to know Aasritha Natarajan
Aasritha is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. She holds a Master’s in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness from New York University. With a background in substance use disorder research, she has experience working with adults facing depression, anxiety, stress, and interpersonal conflicts. Having grown up in a collectivist culture that has historically stigmatized mental health, Aasritha views psychotherapy as an opportunity to embrace collectivist values and use therapy as a tool to destigmatize mental health while empowering clients’ personal relationships with their mental well-being.
She aims to show up authentically and collaborate with her clients to explore the meaning of their environments and relationships. Aasritha utilizes an integrative approach, incorporating relevant mindfulness, relational, person-centered, and dialectical behavioral techniques. On a broader scale, she reinforces a social justice, multicultural, and trauma-informed foundation with every client and aspires to build therapeutic relationships grounded in compassion, collaboration, and mutual learning. Recognizing that taking the first step toward therapy can be challenging, Aasritha hopes to find the approach that best fits you so you can live freely in the present. With her passion for mental health, she is committed to learning your story and celebrating your progress.
