Getting to know Alejandra Parisi
Alejandra Parisi, Ed.M., MA, MHC-LP, Columbia University trained therapist, has joined the team and we are thrilled to have her here! Alejandra is a queer, bilingual Latinx Mental Health Counselor (LP). She earned her MA in Psychological Counseling and EdM in Mental Health Counseling with a Bilingual Latinx Concentration from Teachers College, Columbia University, and holds a BA in Film Studies with a minor in Psychology from Barnard College, Columbia University. Her background in film, television, and media informs her attuned and creative approach to therapy.
What should a new client know about working with you?
Do you long for a space where you can explore your identity without fear of judgment? Are you facing challenges in relationships, whether monogamous, open, or polyamorous? Do you often feel consumed by worry, unable to quiet racing thoughts? Has an experience left you feeling stuck, as though past pain still lingers in your body and mind? You don’t have to navigate these struggles alone. In your work together, Alejandra will challenge and empower you, hold space for both grief and joy, and help you develop greater insight, coping skills, resilience, and self-compassion.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
Her clinical experience includes working with individuals and couples facing challenges with communication, relationships, and life transitions. Common client concerns and identities include: anxiety, depression, first-generation/immigrant, grief, identity exploration, kink/BDSM, Latinx, LGBTQ+, neurodivergence, non-monogamy, perinatal mental health, PTSD, and trauma.
