Psychotherapist
MN
Hey, I’m Alex! I’m all about helping young adults and teens navigate life’s ups and downs—especially when it comes to setting boundaries and letting go of patterns that just aren’t working anymore. My goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable being yourself, figuring things out, and building confidence along the way. My approach I like to mix things up in sessions by pulling from different approaches like CBT, Narrative Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy—whatever fits best for you. I think therapy should feel helpful but also something you can connect with, so especially with teens, I’ll often bring in activities to keep things engaging and meaningful. And while we dive into the serious stuff, I’m all for finding moments to laugh and keep things light when it feels right. My focus I mainly work with young adults who are trying to figure out life—whether that’s dealing with school, friendships, family stuff, or the whole transition into adulthood. I also work with a lot of teens starting around age 10. Most of the time, we’re tackling things like anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, depression, and relationship ups and downs. I also work with couples, using my Prepare/Enrich certification to help them build stronger connections. My communication style My communication style is straightforward but always with care—I believe in being honest and real without ever feeling harsh. I like to gently challenge your thinking when it helps you grow, but I also know when the moment just calls for empathy and support. I’m naturally a pretty sarcastic person, so when it fits, I love bringing humor and lightness into the room. Therapy can be serious, but it doesn’t always have to feel heavy. My journey to mental healthcare My path into therapy came from a genuine desire to help people find clarity and strength when life feels overwhelming. I’ve always loved connecting with others, and becoming a therapist felt like a meaningful way to make a difference.
