Getting to know Alexandra McClellan

Psychoanalyst Donald Winnicott said “When I look, I am seen, so I exist. I can now afford to look and see.” Each of us deserve to be seen for who we are at our core. I believe through self-exploration in therapy, we are enabled to show up authentically in relationships, career, and other areas of life. Together, we will unpack, observe, and engage with what you're facing, and at your pace, to help you feel your most capable and empowered self. Whether you're an adolescent navigating your internal world, an adult looking to launch your relationships and career, a performing artist struggling with burnout, or a parent coping with life changes, we can release what you no longer want to hold, and embrace all that you do. My clinical experience includes adolescent in-patient psychiatry, adult in-patient psychiatry, and in-patient medical/ palliative care. My integrative training has prepared me to best help you navigate anxiety, depression, ADHD, psychosis, grief, trauma, familial conflicts, life changes, mood challenges, and behavioral challenges. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Dance and Psychology from Marymount Manhattan College and Master of Science in Dance/Movement Psychotherapy from Pratt Institute. I specialize in dance/movement therapy, trauma-informed care, humanistic therapies, CBT, DBT, and relational-centered therapeutic approaches. I believe that you are the expert of your life and that together, we can create a collaboration rooted in curiosity, compassion, and play. I invite you to schedule an intake appointment with me. I am honored to meet you!

Absolutely Amazing
I could not recommend Ali MORE. As a dancer and performer myself, Ali's education as a dance/movement therapist and experience as a dancer has been incredibly helpful. She is very thorough, patient, and compassionate.
Ali is an amazing provider - she always gives me her full attention, she really cares about all of her clients, and she’s so knowledgeable!
I would HIGHLY recommend Alexandra McClellan. She’s intelligent, empathetic, and truly knows what she’s doing. If you’re looking for a sign to book with her, let this be that.
Ali is wonderful! She works from a person-centered, trauma-informed approach that makes all people in her space feel seen and heard
I had the pleasure of working with Ali, a kind, thoughtful, and sensitive clinician. Ali’s presence alone is therapeutic as her non-judgmental and caring demeanor creates a safe space for self-exploration. She holds the people she works with in high regard, making the therapy process feel mutually valuable and important. In other words, one’s story is of meaning, not burdensome to another. Movement with Ali is a mind-body process as imagery and metaphor meet physical awareness and action. Her authenticity fosters strong and healing relationships. I highly recommend her!
Ali is a wonderful dance movement therapist who is able to hold a nurturing container in therapy sessions. I look forward to working with her more.
